Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer

Precis Capital

Daljit Sandhu is co-founder and chief operating officer of Précis Capital Partners, a real estate lending platform that delivers large-ticket financing solutions to real estate developers for projects across the UK. Sandhu, alongside Précis Capital’s two other co-founders, secured the backing of TowerBrook Capital Partners and launched the platform in March 2021 amid uniquely challenging market conditions.

In her role as COO, Sandhu is responsible for overseeing strategy, people management, marketing, IT and governance, and led the build-out of an experienced team, which has built an active deal pipeline and is well placed to eventually deliver up to £1B of development financing a year. Sandhu led the business’s ESG strategy, which will include B-Corp certification and a range of new lending products designed to encourage sustainable build practises. Those include green loans and embracing innovation through modern methods of construction for residential developments.

Prior to founding Précis Capital, Sandhu served as co-founder and COO of Urban Exposure, building the company over nearly two decades into the UK’s leading residential development financier while extending more than £1.7B in development finance and £3B in real estate finance overall.

Sandhu is a tech enthusiast with seed investments across a number of platforms and acts as a mentor to scale-ups for Second Century Ventures. She enjoys London’s theatre, opera, museum, gallery and restaurant scene.

Ailish Christian-West

COO

Get Living

Ailish Christian-West is responsible for managing Get Living’s £2B build-to-rent neighbourhood portfolio and current development pipeline of circa 6,000 homes, working with investors and development partners to drive investment performance and grow the Get Living UK portfolio, targeting 15,000 homes. She leads Get Living’s ESG agenda and supports industry collaboration on a broad range of issues, advocating for a sustainable real estate sector and recognition of social contribution.

In 2020, Christian-West chaired Revo, a national body representing the retail property industry during a particularly challenging time for the 30-year-old organisation due to the pandemic. She took up her current role leading Get Living’s portfolio during 2020, immediately getting to work on building a talented portfolio management team to deliver an ambitious portfolio growth strategy.

She initiated the creation of the Lab E20 at East Village, an exemplar of the future of retail in residential neighbourhoods, where residents and visitors can see and buy sustainable products being designed and created in the store. She has led on investment and operational strategies to enhance portfolio performance, which are already delivering results.

Christian-West has more than 20 years’ experience in UK real estate. Prior to Get Living, she spent 12 years at Landsec as an executive committee member responsible for portfolio management and operations. At Landsec, she led key strategic initiatives including the London suburban residential asset strategy, exiting secondary shopping centres and creating significant value through building a retail outlet portfolio. She spent 10 years in fund management running core-plus and opportunistic funds, including at LaSalle Investment Management, and she has served on the board of a technology startup fund.

Christian-West enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children at home in London and looks forward to travelling again in the future.

Shuen Chan

Head of ESG

LGIM Real Assets

Shuen is Head of ESG, Real Assets at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) and is responsible for the sustainability and responsible investment strategy and integration across the real assets portfolio covering real estate equity, infrastructure equity and private credit. Shuen has been working for over a decade in the intersection of sustainable finance, climate change and impact investing, following a successful career in asset management and capital markets.

She was previously co-founder of a purpose driven ESG advisory firm that helped institutional investors build the case for sustainable investments and the transition to a low carbon economy. Prior to that, she established a climate investment firm focused on nature-based solutions.

Tor Burrows

Director of Sustainability & Innovation

Grosvenor

Tor Burrows is the Director of Sustainability and Innovation for Grosvenor Britain & Ireland.

This role is designed to galvanize delivery of our environmental goals for 2030 which will see the business become net carbon zero and zero waste by the end of the decade, while also contributing to a significant increase in biodiversity in its communities. She sits on the business’ Executive Committee.

Tor previously held the position of Director of Placemaking. She has worked in the company for nearly a decade, including leading the asset management programme for the Mayfair estate and working as Head of Strategy for Grosvenor Britain & Ireland. She sits on the Good Growth Steering Committee of London's West End Partnership and is part of the Westminster Property Association’s Senior Advisory Committee.

Tor sits on the WPA’s Senior Advisory Committee and on the West End Partnership’s Good Growth sub-committee.

Andy Haigh

Director of Climate Positive Solutions

Grosvenor Britain & Ireland

Andy Haigh drives Grosvenor’s achievement of its 2030 net zero carbon goals. Meeting these goals demands that every element of the business changes – from how we work with suppliers and tenants, to the management and retrofit of historic properties in Mayfair and Belgravia, to our approach to the design and construction of new places and buildings portfolio-wide. He is responsible for developing best practice policy and technical solutions on projects such as science-based targets, GBI’s offset strategy, approach to TCFD, energy efficiency in buildings and embodied carbon in developments.

Previously Andy was Senior Sustainability Manager, Canary Wharf where he achieved board approval for progressive science-based targets and led on their signing of the BBP Climate Change Commitment.

Chris Webb

Head of Sustainability & Environmental Management

tp bennett

Chris joined tp bennett in 2018 to head up our ambitious sustainability function: To support colleagues, clients and our sector in achieving a sustainable, healthy and equitable built environment, whilst optimising our own footprint and processes as a company. Chris’ role sits across our architecture, master planning, interior design and workplace consultancy functions.

Managing tp bennett’s dedicated Sustainability Team and twenty-strong Sustainability Focus Group, he has implemented our unique Net Zero Carbon research and aligned tp bennett with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge as part of a ten-year plan. He also has a place on our Operations Board and takes an active part in our Wellbeing Group.

As well as sharing his technical built environment experience, Chris’ early career was as a sustainability consultant, and thus he particularly enjoys helping clients devise and install their own sustainability strategies, and then producing designs which reflect and amplify these. Chris strongly considers that diverse and equitable workplaces and communities hold the key to tackling key issues such as climate change and land degradation.

Chris’ approach to sustainable and healthy architecture targets high-performing building fabric, passive ventilation, maximised on-site renewables and biodiversity gains, whilst using interior design principles to hardwire out poor practices and to influence sustainable and healthy behaviours. However, Chris’ main passion is the provenance of the materials that we specify, and that our clients and communities use - and ensuring that these are environmentally and socially responsible. In this way, Chris works closely with our supply chains and designers to achieve this and believes that clear communications on materiality helps create a sustainable culture.

James Hallworth

Partner and Head of Building Technology

Workman LLP

James Hallworth is Partner and Head of Building Technology at Workman LLP, and the driving force behind IBOS, the firm's specialist building technology division helping property and asset owners get more from their buildings.

James's view is straightforward: most building technology doesn't fail because of a lack of innovation - it fails because responsibility for delivery and performance gets lost somewhere between strategy and site. He works at that intersection, helping asset owners, property and site teams align around real performance outcomes rather than tools, dashboards or assumptions.

Through IBOS, James has seen first-hand where AI and smart systems are genuinely changing how buildings are run - and where the harder, more human parts of leasing and asset management still resist automation. He's equally focused on the barriers slowing adoption across London's office market, from legacy infrastructure and fragmented data to the cultural shifts needed to make "smart" buildings actually work in practice.

James also hosts the Built to Perform podcast, speaking with industry leaders about turning ambition into real-world building performance.

NED Willmott Dixon & Co-Founder Forum For The Future

I was born in 1950. The next couple of decades flowed by effortlessly at Eton, Magdalen College, Oxford, and messing around planting trees and farming in New Zealand and Australia.

I first got involved with environmental issues in 1974, at the same time as I became a teacher in a West London comprehensive, which I absolutely loved. Ten years later (during which I was also very involved in the Green Party), I left teaching to become Director of Friends of the Earth where I stayed until 1991, just prior to the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 – which for me, was a life-changing experience.

In 1996, we set up Forum for the Future, which remains my ‘home base’ in terms of all the different things I do today. I was Chair of the UK Sustainable Development Commission between 2000 and 2009. I got married in 1986, and we have two daughters Eleanor and Rebecca.

At the moment, I’m especially busy promoting my new book, Hope in Hell.

That’s about it – in a nutshell! Still hard at it nearly 50 years on.
