Ms. Wheeler serves in leadership roles for a number of national professional organizations. In 2018 she will serve as president of the National Association of Industrial and Office Professionals. She is also a National Product Council Chair for the Urban Land Institute. She serves on the Advisory Boards of The Real Estate Council (TREC) and TREC Foundation. Ms. Wheeler was the 2009 chair of TREC, the first woman to hold that designation. She is also a member of Commercial Real Estate Women, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Real Estate Financial Executives Association. She serves on the boards of the Jackson-Shaw Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas and Circle of Support.

A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a BBA in Marketing and Management, she has pursued graduate studies at the University of Texas at Dallas in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. In 2015 Ms. Wheeler was named both Consumer Credit Counseling Financial Literacy Champion and Dallas Business Journal Outstanding Director for a nonprofit. In 2012 she received the Individual Award for Career Advancement for Women from CREW Dallas. In 2009 the Dallas Business Journal named her CFO of the Year, and in 2006 she received the Outstanding Achievement Award from CREW Dallas.

Michael Balanky is a third-generation Jacksonville native with strong ties to the area’s business, governmental and non-profit communities. Mr. Balanky has a strong track record in land development, land acquisition, entitlements, construction, and environmental remediation. He has shaped Chase into a company that succeeds by carefully selecting only premier development locations. In addition to his real estate activities, Michael serves on the board of directors of several of Jacksonville’s most notable companies and is very active in the non-profit sector. He is also a founding member of the Jacksonville Chapter of the Urban Land Institute.

A Senior Vice President for The Related Group, Michael Hammon works in the Condominium Division on boutique, luxury condominium deals in the State of Florida. Most of the properties are waterfront and are primarily marketed to local high-end buyers with an average size of over 3000 square feet per residence. He is currently working on deals in Tampa, Sanibel, Jacksonville Beach and West Palm Beach.

An industry veteran of more than 30 years, Mr. Hammon began his real estate career as a development associate at Related. Over the next 13 years, he rose through the ranks to become a senior vice president and was directly responsible for developing over 5,000 newly constructed residential units as well as the renovation of several thousand market rate, workforce and subsidized residences.

Following his first tenure at Related, Mr. Hammon led the residential development and redevelopment arm of Ram Development Company, where he led the firm’s expansion into the multifamily sector, served on its five-person senior management team as well as its investment committee for over 13 years.

An active community member, Mr. Hammon has served on numerous civic and cultural committees in the City of Miami Beach, including The Miami City Ballet Construction Committee, The Collins Park Cultural Campus Oversight Committee, the Cultural Arts Neighborhood District Overlay Committee, Miami Beach CDC and Miami Beach United.

Mr. Hammon is the recipient of a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Indiana University and a Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate and Finance from the University of California, Berkeley.

Cary Goldman, a career industrial real estate specialist, is a managing partner and founder of Timber Hill. He is an expert in the development of sound acquisition strategies and the identification of target acquisitions as well as leasing, tenant relations and disposition strategies. Over the past 25 years, Mr. Goldman has completed industrial real estate transactions valued at more than $1,500,000,000.

Prior to forming his new venture in 2018, Mr. Goldman was a managing partner at Sitex Group LLC, a company he co-founded in 2002. There he executed on eight discretionary private equity real estate funds and worked with many of the largest and most innovative companies in the U.S. today. Mr. Goldman also worked with a wide variety of investors such as family offices and high net worth individuals as well as institutional investors including the State Teachers’ Retirement System of Ohio. Under his leadership at Sitex Group, the firm acquired 136 properties valued at more than $1,000,000,000.

Mr. Goldman is also the co-owner of Three Ring Studios, a world-class, purpose-built media campus currently being developed in Covington, Georgia. Completion is expected in 2018.

As Founder and Principal of Banko Design, Melissa is passionate about creating beautiful, functional spaces with strong character and individual narratives. Banko Design is an award-winning interior design and procurement firm that services the multifamily, senior living, and boutique hospitality sectors. In addition to overseeing a fleet of 35 of interior designers and procurement agents in their Marietta, Georgia headquarters and Amelia Island satellite office, Melissa owns design studios under the BD Studio Collection umbrella in Minneapolis, California, and Illinois.

Prior to starting Banko Design, Melissa honed her interiors craft at Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio and tvsdesign. The strong attention to detail instilled at those architectural firms, along with Banko Design’s ability to provide turnkey FF&E and materials procurement are core to the firm’s success and steady growth over the past 9 years.

In Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra, Banko Design has completed 2 new build multifamily projects, a handful of value-add renovations, and has designed an additional 3 new build in various stages of development and construction.

Aaron Bowman serves as the Senior Vice President of Business

Development for the JAXUSA Partnership. Aaron leads the business

recruitment and expansion efforts for the Northeast Florida Regional

Economic Development team. His primary focus is on recruiting

Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace companies to Northeast

Florida. Aaron is also a member of Jacksonville City Council and

represents District 3.

Aaron served 28 years in the United States Navy and retired as a Captain after serving as the

Commanding Officer of Naval Station Mayport. He began his navy career following graduation from

the United States Naval Academy and attended flight school and received his wings in September of

1985. During his early career in the navy, Aaron was an aircraft carrier pilot flying both the A-7

Corsair and F/A-18 Hornet. Following 15 years of flying, Aaron earned a Masters of Business

Administration and was selected to the Aeronautical Engineering Duty Officer Corps (AEDO). As an

AEDO, he was involved in the research and development, testing, and development of numerous

advanced weapon systems. He is one of two AEDO’s ever selected to Command an Operational

Naval Station and assumed Command of Naval Station Mayport in September 2007 until his

retirement.

Aaron is married to his childhood sweetheart, Deborah and they have one son, Blaise.

Katherine Mosley oversees all aspects of development, including entitlements, design, permitting, capital structuring and execution for all new developments. As a Principal of Development, Katherine has been involved with $1 billion of capital transactions spread across targeted southeastern markets including Atlanta, Nashville, Jacksonville, Charlotte and Raleigh.

Katherine began her career with TriBridge directly out of college. In her 13 years at TriBridge, her career has spanned acquisitions, market research, capital projects and development. During her early years with the company she focused on acquisitions and market repositioning through value-add improvements and market knowledge. This foundation of market knowledge laid the framework for many successful developments. Her broad portfolio includes the zoning, closing, and development of 20 acres adjacent to Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina; the entitlement, closing, development and sale of One305 Central in Charlotte, North Carolina’s vibrant and eclectic Plaza Midwood neighborhood; and the entitlement, closing, and development of The Griff, a river-side, mixed use community in Nashville’s Germantown market.

Katherine graduated magna cum laude from Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University with a degree in Business Administration specializing in Real Estate.

While Katherine is passionate about development, her favorite role is mom to her mini-me daughter.

Adam works in land investment sales. Before real estate and before earning an MBA from the Herbert Business School at the University of Miami, he worked in the design-build industry as a building engineer, working on several projects throughout the United States. He supports humanitarian and disaster relief through the American Red Cross and enjoys travel, hiking, golf, and fishing.

Mr. Loretta has more than 22 years’ experience in the fields of land development, landscape architecture, urban design, and parks designs. Joe has been employed by Halff (Previously Genesis Group) for more than 20 years and is the Jacksonville Operations Manager. Beyond his operations role, Joe’s primary responsibilities include business development, internal project management of parks and land development work effort. Joe currently sits as on the Downtown Development Review Board for the City of Jacksonville, and recently served on the City Jacksonville Adaptive Action Area Work Group which evaluated a two-foot sea level rise as it relates to the Comprehensive Plan. Mr. Loretta is active with the Community Housing and Design Product Council with the Florida Chapters of the Urban Land Institute; and the North-East Florida Builders Association Government Affairs Council.

Lori Boyer is the Downtown Investment Authority’s Chief Executive Officer. She began this role in July of 2019 following a career as an attorney, business owner, and City Council member.

Under Lori’s leadership, the DIA continues to drive growth in business and investment, support the creation of a vibrant urban living environment, and enhance quality of life in Downtown Jacksonville through the transparent and responsible leveraging of public investments, assets, infrastructure, and policy.

A graduate of Georgetown University and University of Florida Law, Lori established a successful legal career representing such clients as Arvida and Barnett Bank. Her legal practice concentrated in areas of land use and environmental permitting, including substantial practice in Development of Regional Impact approvals, as well as general real estate finance, leasing, and transactions. In 1985, Lori became a principal in several real estate investment and property management companies with property holdings across the eastern U.S. In 2011, she entered public service and was elected twice to Jacksonville City Council serving as Council President in 2017.

Married to recently retired, former Circuit Judge Tyrie Boyer, Lori enjoys travel, cooking, and the outdoors.
