Larry P. Heard is president and chief executive officer of the Transwestern family of companies, which together comprise a diversified real estate operating, investment management and development organization. The privately held, fully integrated enterprise leverages competencies in office, industrial, retail, multifamily and healthcare to add value for investors, owners and occupiers of real estate.

Larry has been active in the commercial real estate business since 1981. He joined Transwestern in 1983 and was appointed president and chief executive officer of the firm in 2002. Larry and the senior management of Transwestern’s family of companies have led the firm’s expansion to 35 cities and more than 2300 team members and almost 400 million square feet of managed and leased properties. Through its development company, it has developed over 150 projects across the country with values exceeding $10 billion. Transwestern Investment Group currently has $4.4 billion of assets under management.

Larry was recognized nationally in 2016 by Real Estate Forum as a CRE Best Boss and an ELITE 70, which honors the most influential executives in the industry. In 2018, he was recognized locally by the Houston Business Journal in their inaugural Most Admired CEO awards.

Jonathan Brinsden serves as chief executive officer of Midway and guides the company’s overall business strategy and operations. Jonathan is a member of Midway’s leadership team and investment committee.

Jonathan joined Midway’s development team in 2001, was named chief operating officer in 2008 and chief executive officer in 2013. Prior to joining Midway, Jonathan served as president and chief operating officer of Hamm Corporation, a Houston-based development company.

He is a member of the Urban Land Institute Global Board of Directors, Board of Trustees and the Governance Committee, and past Chair of ULI Houston. He is also a board member of NAIOP and an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Jonathan is active in a number of civic leadership and charitable organizations including the board of Central Houston, Vice Chairman of Buffalo Bayou Partnership and Chairman of the Board of SEARCH. Jonathan is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Bauer Graduate Real Estate Program and serves on the Executive Advisory Board.

Juliana Garaizar is the Director of the Texas Medical Center Venture Fund and a Kauffman Fellow. Board Member of the Angel Capital Association, Juliana is also a Senior Advisor of the Portfolia Consumer Fund and Rising Tide Fund, an Investment Committee Member of the Texas Medical Center Fund and the University of Houston Cougar Venture Fund. Juliana was the Managing Director of the Houston Angel Network (most active US network in 2015-2017) and of the Sophia Business Angels (best European network in 2010). Previously she managed Antipolis Innovation Campus, the Business Innovation Center in the French Riviera, as well as several International Projects funded by the European Commission. She started her career in Singapore: first as an International Trade Consultant for the Trade Commission of Spain in a broad range of industry sectors and then as a Project Manager for the Asia Technology Office of Citigroup, leading projects at international level in Europe, Latin America and Japan.

Juliana obtained an MBA at the London Business School and Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, specializing in Entrepreneurship. She is an Expert Committee Member of Success Europe Fund (best European early stage fund in 2010) and International Founding Member of Istanbul’s Galata Business Angels. A member of Ignite -a health-focused women investment group, Juliana is part of the Major of Houston’s Women and Minority Business Task Force and founded the WEangels group investing in Latin American Women Entrepreneurs.

in New York City, New York.

Gaby and her husband, Kenny, have four children. She is an avid runner and

football fan and can be found practicing her “pitmaster” skills on her family and

friends most weekends.

Paul H. Layne is President, Central Region for The Howard Hughes Corporation. He is responsible for the master planned communities of The Woodlands, Bridgeland, and The Woodlands Hills in Houston, Texas and the office development at 110 North Wacker in Chicago, Illinois. He also provides strategic oversight for Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada and Columbia, Maryland along with other smaller assets within the

HHC portfolio. For more than 30 years, Mr. Layne has been a vital leader in Houston’s commercial real estate community as well as in national and international real estate.

Mr. Layne received a bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Houston and attended South Texas College of Law. He currently serves on the boards for the University of Houston Graduate Real Estate Program, the Board of Trustees for Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston, advisory board member for Houston’s Urban Land Institute and Catholic Charities. Paul D. Little serves as Chief Executive Officer of Alston Construction Company

and is a leader in the construction management field. With more than 40 years of

industry knowledge, Paul has hands-on experience in every facet of the business,

ranging from Field Superintendent, Project Manager, Business Development and

Project Executive. Throughout his career, Paul has successfully managed the

construction of several building types. Some of the more notable projects include

the 75 Story Chase Bank Tower in Houston, the Winship Cancer Research Center

in Atlanta and The Lodge at Sea Island, GA.

In 2007, Paul assumed the leadership of Alston Construction and started the

process of growing Alston into a more diversified construction company, by

broadening its client base and expanding the national footprint. Through his
