Ash Shah is the President & CEO of IMPEX Capital Group, a Houston-based commercial real estate investment firm. The firm owns and manages over $1.8 Billion in various properties across the US, including ~$800 Million in Houston and Texas, in general.

To date, IMPEX has acquired over 10,000 multifamily units, 1500 units of new Multifamily Development & Built-to-Rent Projects, 600,000 sf of Industrial & Commercial office, and 400,000 square feet of Retail & Mixed Use. Mr. Shah’s schedule of real estate ownership also includes Hotels, Assisted Living with Memory Care, Storage Facility and Land parcel for housing development.

Mr. Shah currently serves as a Co-Sponsor, Key Principal or Equity Owner in over 50 properties. Prior to entering the commercial real estate sector, Ash was the founder and CEO of Impex Global, a Plastic Films, Paper and Packaging products company. After expanding the business into locations all over North America and operations in several international markets, Mr. Shah successfully sold the business to a private equity firm in 2012.

Ash holds an MBA from Thunderbird Business School of International Management, and his company has been ranked in the “Top 100” and “Fastest Growing Company” by Houston Business Journal and Inc. 5000 magazine.

Mr. Shah is also a former “International Entrepreneur of the Year” award recipient from the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and member of Forbes Financial Council.

Sameer Walvekar

Sameer Walvekar joined Urban Genesis in 2019 and serves as Senior Managing Director

and Head of Capital Markets. Sameer is responsible for capital raising, marketing and

investor relations. He also oversees the firm’s investments and developments in Dallas-

Fort Worth.

Prior to Urban Genesis, Sameer worked for Stockbridge Capital Group in their investments

team, covering the western United States. Sameer started his real estate career as an

acquisitions analyst at Lionstone Investments.

Sameer received a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Terri Clifton

Terri Clifton has been a dynamic force in the Texas multifamily industry since

1987. She began her career working on-site with some of the most respected

names in the industry. Today, she leads her own multifamily investment and

management companies.

Over her career she has personally improved over 35,000 units – everything from

new class-A construction to boarded up and shut down. Today, her Better World

Companies operate nearly 5,000 apartments, have ownership in 1,300 and

employ over 150 multifamily professionals. In 2022, her family-first style earned

her company the distinction of being named Houston’s #1 Top Workplace.

Terri is also a licensed real estate broker, serves on the Board of the Houston

Apartment Association as an Honorary Life Member, is a strong advocate for the

HAA Political Action Steering Committee and supports the National Multifamily

Housing Council’s Advisory Committee. She enjoys teaching up-and-coming

professionals for The National Apartment Association and is known for her fair,

transparent and honorable approach.

Terri is a native of Indiana and a proud Texan by choice.

As New Hope Housing’s founding President and Chief Executive Officer, Joy oversees real estate

development, property management, social service programming, fundraising, marketing, public

relations, and administration. Joy began in 1993 as New Hope’s first employee and has since led

the organization to its 31-year legacy as the leading provider of affordable, permanent Housing

+ Services in the State of Texas.

With Joy’s leadership, New Hope Housing has grown from a small organization that operated 40

units of studio-efficiency housing, to one with more than 1,500 apartment homes at 11

affordable communities across Houston. New Hope has additional developments under

construction and in the funding pipeline, including affordable housing for families and seniors.

The organization is also consulting with other organizations wishing to replicate its model.

New Hope Housing’s historic mission of offering exclusively SRO housing for the formerly

homeless broadened in 2013 to include supportive housing for vulnerable families, and again in

2021, to include working families and individuals with modest incomes. In 2023, New Hope

expanded its mission even further to include supportive housing for seniors (55+) living on

modest incomes. Fifty-five percent (55%) of New Hope’s portfolio is dedicated to Permanent

Supportive Housing (PSH), serving the chronic homeless.

Since inception, New Hope Housing has assisted more than 13,000 people, and has raised more

than $285MM in layered, debt-free financing for capital expansions, organization operating

funds and resident services. New Hope has received numerous prestigious local, national, and

international awards honoring the organization’s innovative and transformative approach to

community change.

Jake oversees all aspects of The BLVD Group with primary emphasis on corporate strategy,

investments and capital raising. He has a 16-year track record of success in real estate

investment and extensive experience building and scaling alternative investment platforms.

During this time, he has closed over $1.2 billion in investments across multiple asset classes.

Prior to joining BLVD, Jake served as Chief Operating Officer for a Dallas based investment firm

focused on strategic investments in the US and Europe. In this capacity, he was responsible for

driving overall operational strategy and optimizing the growth and performance of the firm’s

various investment platforms.

Prior to this, Jake served as head of acquisitions for several investment firms where he was

responsible for structuring and executing the overall investment strategy including acquisitions,

dispositions, financing, and asset management.

Jake received a degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Howard Altshuler, CPA, brings more than 35 years of experience in accounting, audit and assurance, including more than two decades at a Big Four accounting firm. Howard has served as the lead client service partner to a number of public and private real estate companies ranging in size from $10 million to $13 billion in assets, who invested in all real estate types. Howard also has experience working with construction contractors, homebuilders and land developers, as well as private equity and real estate funds. He worked for four years in Shanghai, PRC, where he was responsible for serving multinational clients from around the world who invested in Chinese real estate.

Gabe Lerner is a seasoned commercial real estate and investment management leader with over a decade of experience spanning mixed-use, office, retail, and large-scale land acquisitions. Currently, he serves as Executive Vice President at Lincoln Property Company in Houston, where he focuses on expanding Lincoln’s service businesses, as well as its development and investment portfolios in the market. Additionally, his priority is to grow Lincoln’s mixed-use development business.

Originally from Houston, Gabe has led real estate acquisition, development, and financing initiatives in markets across the globe and nationally, with a particular focus on the energy and real estate sectors. His comprehensive expertise encompasses Acquisition and Divestiture Management, Legal Due Diligence, and Asset Evaluation. Prior to joining Lincoln, Gabe held the position of Managing Director at Allied Orion Group. He was responsible for the acquisition, development, and alternative investment opportunities, concentrating on multifamily properties across the Sun Belt states. His strategic vision and leadership played a crucial role in expanding the company’s portfolio and driving its growth.

Gabe’s career also includes a tenure as Managing Director for one of China’s largest private real estate developers, ZTC Investments. In this capacity, he spearheaded investments, oversight, and management of projects outside mainland China, with a portfolio that included ventures in North America, Europe, Japan, and other global locales. Gabe started his career working as an attorney in Houston, Texas.

He possesses expertise in partnering with property owners to identify asset goals and objectives, generating detailed reports for property owners, crafting comprehensive budgets, analyzing market conditions and competitor performance, monitoring industry trends and making operational strategy recommendations accordingly, establishing operational policies and procedures, maximizing NOI, controlling expenses and delinquencies, implementing marketing and rebranding initiatives, developing resident retention and resident experience enhancement strategies, and training and mentoring associates. John Cadenhead

John Cadenhead has over 20 years of design experience and brings a creative edge to the leadership team. As the Director of Design at Goree, John leads the company’s effort to build a firm wide culture of design. As the Commercial Team continues to grow, he works with the team to continuously leverage the possibilities within each project.

John graduated from Parsons School of Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and has worked in multiple lead design roles throughout his career. He has spearheaded a wide array of projects from luxury vacation homes in Egypt, to condominiums in San Antonio. John has been instrumental in helping design Houston with his work on London House, Riverview Apartments, and The Chaucer to name a few.

John adds value to projects through design by carefully inspecting what is unique about each site and combining this with the client’s wishes to achieve exceptional buildings. He’s a technology pro and incorporates 3D-printing and Building Information Modeling whenever possible to improve the design process. When John’s not tinkering with his designs, he’s carving up lakes on his wakeboard, playing softball, or searching for a band in need of a guitarist.

David Rasch is a Houston native who has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years. He enjoys the high-activity, fast-paced style of construction management and feels tremendous accomplishment when his projects reach completion. During his tenure at Harvey Cleary, David has had the opportunity to work on the teams that erected several of our most notable projects, including Sugar Land Town Square, Anadarko Tower, and the Woodlands Waterway.

While working in a variety of market sectors, everything from hospitality to commercial office buildings to warehouses, David has learned the importance of perseverance. He believes that all projects have their own unique challenges, but with a good owner, designer, and construction team, most of these challenges can be overcome. David is also passionate about his community and has served as a member of the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association and other community organizations.

When he’s not working on projects or serving his community, David cherishes spending time with his wife of 20 years and their four children. David also enjoys the great outdoors. He loves hunting, fishing, water skiing, and snow skiing in the mountains.

To date, Krystyn has been responsible for delivering over 1 million square feet of built multi-family projects in Houston, TX, including signature projects Giorgetti Houston and The Sophie at Bayou Bend. Krystyn is also a Partner with Vedetta Design, an Interior Design Studio from the makers of Mirador Group.

Krystyn currently has served in various capacities on the boards and committees of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Houston Chapter, and the Texas Society of Architects. Currently, she is serving as President-Elect for the Texas Society of Architects in 2025, where she leads the 8000 member organization.

Krystyn is a licensed architect in Texas and LEED AP BD+C professional. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University and received a Masters of Architecture from Virginia Tech. She was recognized as a Houston Business Journal Women Who Mean Business Honoree in 2024. Krystyn was name the 2025 AIA Houston Ben Brewer Young Architect Award Winner and the 2025 Texas Society of Architects Award Early Career Professional Achievement winner.

Alex delivers a dynamically versed perspective in commercial real estate having experience at both an international law firm and a commercial real estate development company. For 11 years, he served clients in acquisitions, dispositions, ground-up development, landlord/tenant representation, and financing on behalf of Andrews Kurth LLP. During his career at AK, Alex developed a strong relationship with PinPoint Commercial, a real estate development company in Houston, and was later hired to serve as General Counsel.

Alex's role at PinPoint allowed him to learn a greater appreciation for the business side of real estate development. He takes pride in helping clients solve problems from a practical perspective, weighing both legal and business interests.

Alex received his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana, and his B.S., magna cum laude, in Finance from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.

Alex and his family are members of Chapelwood United Methodist Church and the Houston Racquet Club, where he served as President of the Board in 2020.
