Mr. Miller graduated with a BA from Vanderbilt University, majoring in mathematics and economics, and he earned an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in finance and economics.

John brings to the firm over 25 years of International Real Estate experience, including for the last 18 years, participating in Irish real estate asset management and development. Vanessa Byrne is co-head of the Mason Hayes & Curran Real Estate team. She advises on all aspects of commercial property and specialises in energy infrastructure. She has extensive experience buying and selling trading assets in sectors including hotels and healthcare.

Vanessa works closely with landlord and tenants and regularly negotiates complex lease agreements. She acts for financial institutions on the sale and purchase of property backed loan portfolios. Vanessa is particularly skilled at running large scale transactions and the associated legal project management.

Dara Deering is CEO of HBFI, having joined the organisation on 2 September 2019. Dara has extensive experience in financial services, having previously served as Executive Director and Head of Retail Banking at KBC Bank Ireland plc since February 2012. During that time Dara led the launch and implementation of a new retail bank, broadening the range of products and services available, and offering a new banking alternative for Irish consumers. Prior to her time in KBC, Dara held a number of leadership positions in the retail financial services industry. Declan joined Respond as Chief Executive Officer in August 2016. Declan is an experienced general manager who worked initially building a business over many years and sold to an American multi-national. Declan’s previous role was Chief Executive Officer with Sophia Housing Association. He served as a non-executive Director of the Ballymun Regeneration Board for ten years, the largest urban regeneration project in Europe, where he chaired the Audit Committee. He was instrumental in securing the funding commitment of 15million euro by Atlantic Philanthropies and the Department of Children for the Prevention and Early Intervention Programme over a five period.

Declan was Chair of the Housing Alliance from 2019 to 2021. The Housing Alliance is a collaboration of six of Ireland’s largest Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) and in this capacity he served as a member of the High Level Housing Delivery Group established by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien, T.D. He previously chaired the Homeless Network of the major Homeless Agencies in Dublin.

He served as a ministerial appointee Board member for two three year terms at the National Education Welfare Board (NEWB), a Statutory Agency which was established to promote school attendance and also chaired its Audit Committee. Declan is actively interested in housing, education, and family services and served on many boards and committees on these issues. He is an invited speaker at the OECD and other international conferences.

Paul Hogan is the Chief Planning Adviser at the Department of Housing, Local

Government and Heritage, where he has led the team responsible for the provision

of professional planning advice on national, regional and urban planning since 2020.

Paul has 30 years planning experience, including 18 years in local government and 5

years in the private sector, both in Ireland and the UK. He was Project Manager for

the National Planning Framework (NPF) and prior to joining the Department, was

Senior Planner at South Dublin County Council, where he led a range of plans,

projects and initiatives, including the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone (SDZ)

Planning Scheme and initiating the Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets
