Chris specialises in the art of workplace strategy and place-making, and is a founder of Six Ideas, a community of strategists committed to tackling complex problems arising from continual social change. Formerly Head of Corporate Real Estate for the BBC, he helped create the vision for MediaCity UK. The BBC became the anchor tenant at this major new media community at Salford Quays, transforming the entire perception of Greater Manchester. Chris started his career with JLL, was a founding partner in Corporate Real Estate Services and VP of Int’l Corporate Real Estate for the Walt Disney Company. Michael started his career in Goldman Sachs (London), before moving to JPMorgan (London), focusing initially on real estate finance underwriting, before leading the syndicated real estate senior loan distribution effort for UK and Ireland.

In 2009 Michael set up a consulting business which initially focused on working out real estate loans for banks, before switching in 2010 to advising investors on acquiring troubled loan positions and assets which where being sold as part of bank deleveraging processes.

Michael moved back to Dublin in Q3 2014 to set up Carysfort to put these experiences to good use.

Bella Peacock

Bella Peacock is a Managing Director and member of the European Leadership team. She is

responsible for asset execution across student and multifamily leading the company’s Asset

Management and Operations teams across Europe. Bella works with her teams in France, Germany,

Ireland, Netherlands, Spain and UK to ensure the effective implementation of the Greystar global

operating model, applying it to the local context of each market to drive asset performance across all

stages of the investment lifecycle.

Bella joined Greystar in 2014 as one of the first members of the new European business where she

was engaged with the growth of the platform across the region. Prior to Greystar, she worked in the

residential real estate sector covering serviced apartments, PRS and BTR at Native where she was

responsible for portfolio growth, investor relations and asset management. Bella started her career

at The UNITE Group.

Bella is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, Real Estate Balance and The Class Foundation.

She earned her Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Oxford before completing her

Master of Science in Real Estate Investment and Finance from Henley Business School at the

University of Reading.

David Cantwell is a Director of Hooke & MacDonald and has been with the company since 1982. A Fellow of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, David is highly regarded for his expertise and track record in residential development, design, planning, property management, asset reviews, investment and realisation. As part of the Hooke & MacDonald team that has lead the Multi-family / BTR investment sector in Ireland and sold over €2 billion in properties over the last 5 years, David has a deep knowledge of residential capital markets and investor expectations and requirements in the living sector.

Nick has over 20 years of banking & real estate experience and joined Bank of Ireland Group in 2012 from IBRC having previously worked in senior risk & corporate banking roles with Anglo Irish Bank & AIB Capital Markets. Nick heads the relationship management team within Bank of Ireland’s Real Estate Finance Group. He has responsibility for the Bank’s large ticket property relationships in the commercial and residential property sectors. Nick is a member of the Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking Senior Management team and holds B.Comm & Masters degrees in economics from University College Cork.

In his early career, Tony Reddy gained wide experience with Paul Rudolph (New York) & Roche Dinkeloo & Associates (Hamden, Connecticut), Murray & Murray (Ottawa & Dublin), Stephenson Associates and Hope Cuffe & Associates (Dublin).

In 1982, he commenced with Maurice Fitzgerald as Fitzgerald Reddy Associates (now Reddy Architecture + Urbanism).

Through his work as a principal of the firm, he has gained wide recognition as an influential architect and urbanist. His firm’s work embraces the design of furniture, interiors, a wide range of building typologies and urban design.

His firm’s ability to bring together and lead multi-disciplinary teams appropriate to a budget, coupled with a strong design focus and clear understanding of how people and places interact, has resulted in a wide range of commissions and projects which have contributed to contemporary architecture and the built environment.

Among his firm’s key projects are the Eircom Building, Temple Bar West End, Custom House Square (IFSC) and Heuston South Quarter.

He is a former President of the RIAI (2004-2005) and a former Joint Chairman of the Sustainable Housing and Communities Committee. He is also a founding Director of The Academy of Urbanism and The Urban Forum both of which promote the importance of quality urbanism in achieving sustainable towns and cities.

Gary joined Hines in 2014. Gary has over 14 years’ experience in real estate in numerous markets, managing large-scale design teams on a number of significant urban planning and rejuvenation development projects. As Managing Director, his main focus is on a new Build to Rent residential platform which includes the Cherrywood Town Centre development in Dublin's south suburbs and former Player Wills factory in Dublin 8 . He assists Brian Moran with the leadership and coordination of the Hines Ireland platform, and coordinates new business activity. He spent 3 years managing a dedicated real estate team for European retailer Lidl GmbH in order to roll out new retail stores across Ireland. Gary has also worked for global developer Treasury Holdings where he managed a multi-billion euro development portfolio with projects in Ireland, Russia and Sweden. Gary graduated from University College Dublin’s Smurfit Business School in 2005 following his Undergrad Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Rachel is a graduate of UCD, with a Bachelors of (Civil) Engineering and Masters in Regional and Urban Planning. She is currently Director of Planning with An Bord Pleanála, having previously worked as Senior Planner with both Fingal County Council and Meath County Council. Rachel has, over the last twenty years, experience in various planning authorities, An Bord Pleanála and in the private sector. Rachel is a member of the Irish Planning Institute, and one of its past-presidents, as well as a former member of Comhar, the National Partnership for Sustainable Development and current Chair of the Management Board of the National Biodiversity Data Centre.

John Downey is the Managing Director of DOWNEY, a leading multi-disciplinary practice of Town Planners, Architects, Landscape Architects and Project Managers. John is a chartered town planner with over 25 years’ experience in planning & development within both the private and public sectors providing multi-disciplinary services to all areas within the property market from feasibility right through to on-site completion.

John is a specialist in development critiques, planning procedures and the procurement of all planning applications through the various planning processes including S.34 applications, SID applications, and the SHD (Strategic Housing Development) procedure. He has lectured in both the School of Planning and the School of Real Estate in DIT, Dublin on all planning matters.

Through his firm based in Merrion Square, John has represented several large housebuilders, development funds, estate agents, and legal firms, whilst also doing work for planning authorities including Housing Strategies including recently Laois CC and Galway CC.

He has also been heavily involved within the profession itself within advisory roles to Government including advising The Oireachtas (2014) and The Department of Finance (2015). He was part of the Advisory Group for the National Planning Framework (2017) and was on the expert panel for the formulation of the Design Standards for New Apartments - Guidelines for Planning Authorities (March 2018).

He is currently a serving Board Member on the ECTP-CEU (European Council of Spatial Planners) and was a former Chair of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Ireland, in addition to being the first Irish delegate elected as a corporate member of the General Assembly of the Royal Town Planning Institute in London.
