Rachel is a graduate of UCD, with a Bachelors of (Civil) Engineering and Masters in Regional and Urban Planning. She is currently Director of Planning with An Bord Pleanála, having previously worked as Senior Planner with both Fingal County Council and Meath County Council. Rachel has, over the last twenty years, experience in various planning authorities, An Bord Pleanála and in the private sector. Rachel is a member of the Irish Planning Institute, and one of its past-presidents, as well as a former member of Comhar, the National Partnership for Sustainable Development and current Chair of the Management Board of the National Biodiversity Data Centre.

Having worked with some of the largest private developers in Ireland over past 20 years – Gary has a broad perspective of the Irish and UK property markets, its current challenges and some of its opportunities. Having more recently worked with Australia’s largest pension property fund and developer, he provides some insight for a vision on what future developments may look like, incorporating collaboration and partnership, and an industry focusing on the ‘Triple Bottom Line”, to ensure sustainable places, where people are more than ever, happy to live and work in.

Mr. Storgaard joined the firm in 2018. As a Director in the European Transactions group, based in London, he brings significant European student housing and broader real estate investment management experience, deep sector relationships across the institutional investment community, asset managers, developers and outsourcing partners, as well as a proven ability in identifying and structuring real estate investments across the continent.

Prior to joining Harrison Street, Mr. Storgaard built a career spanning more than 20 years in real estate investment and development throughout Europe. He previously formed part of the management team at Threesixty Development Ltd, an Oaktree Capital Management owned real estate development platform focused on student accommodation. His past work also includes serving as the Head of European Acquisitions at HDG Mansur Investment Services and before that, he held increasingly senior roles at Mansford Holdings PLC and Heitman Financial LLC, respectively.

Mr. Storgaard earned degrees from the Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College, University of Reading’s Henley Business School, Copenhagen Business School and INSEAD.
