As a partner and executive vice president at Etkin Johnson Real Estate Partners, Derek Conn oversees all capital markets activities including acquisition, disposition, financing and equity raises in addition to managing the accounting team. His financing experience, including complex acquisition underwriting, default workout strategies and loan document negotiation, combined with Etkin Johnson’s strong financial resources and long-standing relationships, helps bring Etkin Johnson’s visionary acquisition approach to fruition. Derek is a fourth generation Coloradan which helps him identify trends in the marketplace and capitalize on opportunities that arise. Over his career, Derek has been involved in more than $750 million in real estate transactions. He is active in multiple real estate organizations including NAIOP and ULI and was recognized in 2018 as one of Colorado’s Top 25 Young Professionals by ColoradoBiz magazine.

As President and CEO of one of Colorado’s premiere real estate investment firms, Chris is responsible for driving the company’s investments, strategic planning and overall operations. He has successfully acquired, developed and overseen projects in excess of $1.5 billion in Land Development, Office, Retail and Industrial building.

One of Chris’ greatest strengths is in finding and creating value in under-managed and ill-conceived properties. Along with his experienced team, he has created investment opportunities utilizing both traditional acquisitions, and forward-thinking financial structuring. Working closely with various state municipalities, urban renewal authorities, metropolitan districts and complex entitlement processes, Chris has been able to get the most complex of deals successfully structured. By proficiently and intelligently understanding the financial opportunities in the acquisition process, Chris has been able to create deal structures which make the investments valuable to all parties involved.

With over 35 years in the commercial real estate business, Chris holds a long term and understands the importance of having focus on value creation and stability. Through his leadership, DPC has grown continuously through both good ties and down turns.

Before his tenure at DPC, Chris worked for a local Denver developer where he was responsible for project management and leasing of the company’s office, industrial and retail portfolio, and in the banking industry handling OREO work outs. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Colorado State University with an emphasis on finance and economics.

Jason graduated from Michigan State University before working for several manufacturers, mortgage lenders and international government contractors, where he led business development and capital raise efforts. His experience and personality have earned him a vast network of capital providers and clients, which led to the co-founding of PlattPointe Capital. Jason splits time on business development and capital advisory for his ever-growing book of clients. Jason focuses on private debt and special situation lending but is adept in all areas of commercial real estate finance. He regularly speaks at conferences and presents on CRE capital markets to law firms and banks demystifying the world of CRE private debt and equity.
