Prior to co-founding DB Capital Management, Mr. Brennen Degner was COO and Director of Asset Management for MJW Investments, Inc. where he oversaw the operation and management of a diversified portfolio valued in excess of $750 million. He has broad experience in the acquisition and re-positioning of underperforming projects in student housing and multifamily investments. Mr. Degner is a graduate of the prestigious Dollinger Master of Real Estate Development program at the University of Southern California, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Arizona, and has received a certificate in Real Estate Investments from The University of California, Los Angeles.

Devang Shah is co-head of Cityview’s acquisitions activities on the West Coast. He has 25 years of experience in real estate investment, development, design, construction and asset management. Previously, Devang was the principal of Marketcents Inc., an independent project management firm, serving as an owner’s representative to investment firms, builders and developers. Prior to that, he worked was Vice-President at RCLCo, LLC, a national independent real estate consulting firm.

Colby manages teams of Asset Management and Re/Development professionals at Gerrity to create best in class retail and mixed-use properties in the Western US. He has 18 years of experience designing, entitling, and developing a variety of residential and commercial projects. In past roles, he has led multifamily, single family, and seniors housing value-add platforms.

Luke oversees Shaw’s Preconstruction Team and leads the collaborative project development process with owners and architects. He manages Shaw’s extensive pipeline of projects through multiple offices in the Rocky Mountain Region. Luke’s approach is one of collaboration, offering cost-effective alternatives to clients’ most challenging problem: getting to the right price. Luke remains current on industry trends in cost, technology, methods of construction, and materials to meet owner expectations and ensure a consistent client experience while delivering world-class service. He is involved in numerous industry organizations, including the Downtown Denver Economic Council, the American Society of Professional Estimators, ULI, and NAIOP. A graduate of Colorado State University, Luke lives in the Denver Metro area.

Bart Hurlbut leads FCP’s Denver, CO office and focuses on the sourcing and execution of new multifamily investments in the Western U.S., including both acquisitions and development opportunities. Prior to joining FCP in 2013, Mr. Hurlbut worked in Cassidy Turley’s (now Cushman & Wakefield’s) Capital Markets Group, where he helped source debt and structured equity transactions. Mr. Hurlbut earned a BS in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, and a founding member of the Young Real Estate Professionals of Washington, DC.

Mark Barton is the Denver Division President for Catamount Constructors, Inc., a 100% employee-owned national general contractor. Barton has 23 years of construction experience and has been with Catamount since 2007. He has executive oversight on all of Catamount’s Single Family for Rent projects and is an expert in business development, building operations teams and programs, and client/subcontractor management. Barton holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.

As the Chief Real Estate Investment Officer, Clark provides leadership and strategic direction to the real estate division, including overseeing policies, procedures and investment decisions for real estate development, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, marketing and partnership activities for DHA. She also establishes and maintains relationships with government agencies, community stakeholders, residents, vendors, financial partners, and various associations for the execution of DHA’s real estate investment strategic goals among other key responsibilities.

Prior to joining DHA, Clark worked for Urban Land Conservancy (ULC), a Denver-based non-profit real estate development organization focused on land acquisitions and development of affordable housing and supportive community benefit uses. Earlier in her career she also served in city government in the planning and development department for the City of Pasadena, California.

Clark currently serves on the Colorado State Land Board as commissioner at large as a gubernatorial appointee and served on the Denver Planning Board as a mayoral appointee for five years. Clark is a thought leader in the industry, having served on multiple panels at various events. She also earned a Trailblazer Award from the Denver Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), and was an Eagle Award nominee from Housing Colorado.

Clark holds her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin, a Master of Planning from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.

Iván is based in Denver, CO and serves as the Mountain West Market President. Iván’s primary focus as Market President is to expand the company’s investments, social impact, and physical footprint across Colorado and the Mountain West by leading the strategic vision, execution, and continued growth of Columbia Ventures’ portfolio within the region. Iván’s development experience is in mixed-use, multi-family, and community impact projects and is naturally drawn to Columbia Ventures’ integrity based entrepreneurial and innovative approach to transformative community development, be it affordable, missing middle, or market rate. Iván’s finance and capital markets background leads his collaborative, relationship-based approach to sustainable community building.

Iván grew up in Denver, CO and holds a Bachelor of Science: Business Administration, Finance degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He is civically engaged as a board member of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, Colorado Uplift, and the Sun Valley Eco-District Trust. Outside of work Iván enjoys cycling, hiking, camping, and snowboarding with his

partner Paulina and their dog Tachi.

At the core of Albus Brooks’ identity is community development and servant leadership. Albus moved to Colorado in 1997 to study and play football for the University of Colorado. Sports Illustrated named him one of the Top 10 Hardest Hitters, and the NFL took interest in him before injuries ultimately ended his football career. Albus Brooks pursued his calling for community development by working with young people in Denver’s poor communities. He served as the Director of the Issachar Center for Urban Leadership, an organization that invests in Denver’s emerging leaders. In 2010 Albus worked to elect then- Mayor John Hickenlooper as Governor of Colorado, acting as the statewide Outreach and Political Director.

This exposure to political leadership led him to seek public office, and in 2011 Albus defeated 38

opponents to become the youngest African American ever elected to Denver City Council. Serving two terms on Denver City Council, including two terms as Council President, Albus accomplished an ambitious range of progressive legislative victories with the goal of building a truly inclusive city. To address the affordability crisis, he co-created Denver’s first - and Colorado’s largest - affordable housing fund. To make Denver a more equitable place to grow up he funded and expanded the Denver Preschool Program, providing universal access to preschool for all 4-year-olds. He also decriminalized marijuana possession for those 18-21 years old, preventing thousands of young people from entering the criminal justice system. Albus Brooks received his M.B.A. from the University of Denver. He is now the Vice President of

Business Development and Public Affairs for Milender White, a Development and Construction

firm operating in Southern California and Colorado. Albus sits on multiple boards and commissions and has been a part of the following national and international fellowship programs: The Marshall Memorial Fellowship, the NewDEAL Leaders, and the Aspen Institute - Rodel Fellowship. Although a rising global leader, it is in the heart of Denver where Albus feels most at home. He lives in Five Points/RiNo with his three young children, Makai, Kenya and Kaya.

Erik Hall joined Van Tilburg, Banvard & Soderbergh, AIA in 1998 as an

Architectural Intern with an emphasis in design and Architectural Rendering. He hasprogressed to become a leader in the entire Denver office design and production process. With his professional emphasis on design, he plays a pivotal role in the concept and schematic development of Denver office projects.

Erik also functions as a project manager, simultaneously overseeing several projects through design development, construction and construction administration phases.

He is adept at design detailing, and well versed in the technical aspects of Type V Construction. His versatility and ability in varied roles demonstrate comprehensive knowledge, skill and experience of the entire architectural process.

Randy is an Architect and prior to joining Cushing Terrell in June 2021, he was a VP of Design and Construction for one of the largest mixed income/affordable rental housing developers in the country, McCormack Baron Salazar (MBS). MBS was a client of his for 6 years prior to his 17 years working internally at MBS. Over those 23 years, he was responsible for the design of over 6000 apartment units, in 14 different cities which totaled over 1 Billion in development cost. His pioneering design efforts include the first multi-family, mixed-income building in the U.S. to incorporate Universal Design features in every unit, one of the first affordable housing developments to be certified under the Enterprise Green Communities Criteria, and one of the first mixed-income rental developments to achieve LEED for Homes certification and LEED for Neighborhood Development certification. Randy has a unique depth of experience with design, finance, construction, and property management issues that can only come from guiding the design and construction process of over 30 Low Income Housing Tax Credit financed neighborhoods from initial concept through resident lease up and on into decades of ongoing successful operation.

Randy holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University, is a Registered Architect in the State of California, is a member of the American Institute of Architects, and the Urban Land Institute.

As Executive Director of Affordable Housing at Cushing Terrell he wants to be a resource for clients and communities to help create connected thriving neighborhoods that provide attainable and affordable housing for folks from all walks of life.

Randy is currently leading Cushing Terrell’s effort on the 11 acre, $400MM ,277 unit, Lumberyard Affordable Housing neighborhood in Aspen, Colorado.

Ivan A. Sarkissian, co-founder of McConaughy & Sarkissian, P.C., was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 1997 and is admitted to practice in all Colorado state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Sarkissian received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1993 and attended the Tulane University School of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, in 1997. Subjects include claims involving public-private partnerships (PPP), high rise residential and commercial development, industrial and warehouse facilities, resort and entertainment facility development, marijuana grow facilities, civil infrastructure improvements, including water, sanitary and storm sewer claims, stormwater management claims (SWMP), environmental contamination, groundwater, and claims related to construction-related products.

With a strong background in finance and accounting, Lauren Napheys directs all aspects of the investment process at the Headwaters Group, including growth strategy, deal sourcing, investment underwriting and investor relations.

Prior to joining the Headwaters Group, Lauren worked at KPMG for 5 years, most recently serving as the deal advisory director. Before KPMG, she also worked at EY and UMB Bank. Lauren received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Chris has led the investment of over $105M in over 750 assets throughout Colorado and Texas. Chris leads our financial operations and serves as expert on OZ regulations. Chris is a Steamboat local.

As Senior Vice President of Development, Reed Ruck brings nearly three decades of industry experience and numerous success stories with a history of executing thousands of multifamily units while managing debt and equity responsibilities.

In his role, Reed is instrumental in Ryan Companies’ development platform within the Rocky Mountain Region, helping secure development deals and cement Ryan as a qualified developer within the area. From sourcing land to overseeing the development process through to construction, Reed will primarily concentrate within the multifamily space with additional focus in mixed-use and industrial sectors.

Brian Caudel is a Multifamily Mortgage Banker in KeyBank’s Commercial Mortgage Group. Brian began

his career at KeyBank over 12 years ago in Key’s Servicing Group. He then spent 2 years in Underwriting

before moving to Production 9 years ago.

Since taking over as a mortgage banker in the Rocky Mountain Region in January 2019, he’s closed over

$2.1B in perm loans through Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Life Company, HUD and Debt Fund.

Brian graduated with a BBA in Finance from the University of Kentucky. He enjoys spending time with his

wife, Lacy, and their 2 kids, Bennett (5 yrs old) and Sloane (2.5 yrs old) in his free time.

Jason Fudin is the CEO and Co-founder of the hospitality living platform, Placemakr. He is a well-

respected entrepreneur in the industries of real estate, hospitality, travel, and business. Before co-

founding Placemakr, Jason was the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Vornado Realty Trust. At

Vornado, Jason worked on large asset repositioning and developing innovative commercial real estate

concepts for the organization. Over his career at Vornado, Jason has managed commercial real estate

development projects valued at over $2 billion.

Fueled by a desire for disruption, Jason co-founded Placemakr, an innovative, venture-backed, tech-

enabled real estate company. Here Jason has emerged as a pioneer in the urban, high-rise real estate

William Delsa, CPA, is the managing partner in CohnReznick’s Denver office and a member of the Firm’s Tax Practice. William has 17 years of public accounting experience to real estate clients that include affordable housing, commercial real estate developers, private equity real estate funds, real estate syndicators, management companies, individuals, and not-for-profit organizations.

Within the real estate industry, William specializes in operating and multi-state fund level taxation, complex 704(b) allocations and Opportunity Zone funds. Mortera’s career spans more than 20 years in the real estate industry and she has a track record of creating innovative solutions that drive hyper-growth. As SVP of Performance for Alliance Residential and more recently, SVP of Marketing and Communications for Progress Residential, Mortera helped both companies double the size of their portfolios. Mortera was also named one of Globe Street’s Women of Influence in 2021. In her new role as VP of Business Development for Bozzuto West, Mortera brings her experience leading multiple functions including operations, leasing, talent and marketing across the multifamily, single-family and build to rent sectors to benefit Bozzuto’s growing clientele in the West.

Brent Corn, Director of Sales- ADT Multifamily, is a consumer electronics veteran with more than two decades of experience in the industry. Over the past 10 years, Brent has specialized in the IoT/Automation vertical, with a focus on SaaS for multiple markets, including the multi-family, hotel, commercial lighting, security, and single-family spaces. Outside of work, Brent cheers for Arsenal football club and has been known to learn a song or two on the guitar.

Brent Haselden founded Haselden Builders in partnership with Haselden Construction after an increased desire from their commercial clients in expanding to the build-for-rent and multifamily markets. He currently serves as President and has put in place over 500 million dollars of multifamily construction projects.

Brent is a client-focused senior executive with a demonstrated track record of successful projects across the front range, mountain community, and beyond. His depth of knowledge of development, building systems, and production-based construction provides clients with confidence and clarity in their construction process. He has built strong relationships in the Colorado subcontractor market and leverages them to create outstanding projects.

Brent graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management and later completed his MBA at the University of Denver.

Andrea Austin, a partner with Husch Blackwell, LLP, focuses her legal practice on professional sports

facility deals and the community impacts those projects engender. Andrea advises clients on NBA, MLB

and NFL facility transactions, including most recently working with the City of Oakland on a new

waterfront ballpark for the Oakland A’s, advising the Charlotte Hornets on renovation of Spectrum Arena

and development of a new training center, and helping the City of Green Bay update its agreements with

the Packers at Lambeau Field. Andrea’s broader expertise is in negotiating and structuring public-private

partnerships for higher education and municipal projects, as well as advising on all facets of commercial

real estate development and adaptive re-use. Andrea’s background in commercial real estate investing on

behalf of one of the nation’s largest life insurance companies gives her particular insight into

Hamid grew up in the construction industry by learning the trade in his family’s real estate development business and has pursued a technology-oriented education and professional life in the past 20 years. Prior to founding Zebel in 2019, Hamid led the preconstruction data analytics at Western National Group, a large multifamily development/construction/property management firm, based in Southern California. He now works with large multifamily developers and GC's, such as Irvine Company, Ryan Companies, and Legacy Partners, who share their historical construction cost data anonymously through Zebel, the "Switzerland of Construction Cost Data".

Hamid received a Master of Business Administration from Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, earned a Master of Science in Construction Management and an Engineer degree in Construction Information Technology both from University of Southern California.

With 18 years of experience at Davis Partnership Architects, Jeff Stoecklein is a Senior Associate and landscape architect whose passion lies in creating inspirational outdoor spaces. He is an adaptable designer having experience in a variety of project sectors and approaches each project type looking for design ideas that stitch built and natural environments seamlessly. Jeff works closely with the entire architectural and engineering teams on each project to ensure the design of buildings and outdoor spaces are tightly inter-connected, making sure each outdoor space fits effortlessly with the natural ecosystems and architectural concepts.

Tom Alford is senior vice president/general manager of Saunders Construction, LLC, overseeing the Denver-based work acquisition, design/preconstruction phase management and construction operations. He is also charged with strategic oversight and direction for Saunders’ self-performed commercial concrete services and wholly-owned equipment subsidiary.

Through his leadership in construction management and enterprise-wide strategy, Alford has been an integral part of structuring operational excellence at Saunders. His responsibilities also include corporate oversight of general superintendents, quality control and warranty, and contract administration.

Alford’s three decades of industry experience are rooted in his hands-on involvement — providing him a unique understanding of field operations. He has held several roles throughout his career ranging from project engineer and superintendent to preconstruction manager. Alford is a Registered Professional Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional.

He is an active member on the Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation Board and the University of Colorado Denver College of Construction Engineering and Management Advisory Board.

Chelsea Rosty serves as the Chief of Staff for Denver Economic

Development & Opportunity (DEDO) at the City and County of

Denver. Rosty grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado and is a

graduate of the University of Wyoming. While in Laramie,

Chelsea competed on the UW Rodeo team and studied

Marketing and Economics. She has 16+ years of experience in

economic development, marketing, and community

development and holds a Master’s Degree in business

administration.

Prior to her Chief of Staff role, Rosty was DEDO’s Director of

Communications and Marketing and prior to that, the Director of Business Innovation &

Tourism for the City of Montrose, CO. She managed the city’s Main Street Program where

historic preservation and local business vitality were primary focuses. Additionally, Chelsea

oversaw communications, marketing, tourism, and guest services for the city.

She loves running, camping, reading, writing and animals. Hidden talent: roller skating. Chelsea

used to deliver food on roller skates as her high school job! She and her family enjoy travel and

have been on many great adventures around the world.
