Kelly is a nationally respected executive leader at the intersection of economic development, life sciences, public policy and innovation. With experience spanning the public, private and nonprofit sectors, she is recognized for building high-impact ecosystems that accelerate discovery, strengthen workforce pipelines and drive long-term regional competitiveness. Brough serves as President and CEO of Fitzsimons Innovation Community in Aurora, Colorado, one of the nation’s leading health and life sciences campuses. She leads efforts to advance a mission-driven environment where researchers, entrepreneurs, clinicians and companies collaborate to cure disease, improve patient care and translate innovation into measurable economic impact for Colorado. Previously, she was President and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, representing nearly 3,000 member organizations and shaping strategies to support business growth and talent development. Earlier, she served as Chief of Staff to Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, overseeing more than 12,000 employees and approximately $2 billion in operating budgets, with responsibility across complex operational and policy priorities. A trusted civic and industry voice, Brough currently serves on the boards of History Colorado, The Denver Foundation and the Colorado Bioscience Association. Her prior board service includes Delta Dental of Colorado, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, Haselden Construction, the Denver Zoo and Colorado Mesa University’s Board of Trustees. Brough holds an MBA from the University of Colorado Denver and completed executive education at Harvard Business School, including programs focused on public company board governance and corporate board effectiveness. She has been a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) for more than a decade. Born in Montana and raised in Colorado, she is a Coloradan to her core; She enjoys hiking, biking, paddling, skiing and global travel, having visited 45 states and 57 countries.
