James Corbett, M.Div., J.D, is a seasoned healthcare executive bringing over a decade of c-level leadership experience from both the for-profit and the non-profit sectors of the industry. James has served as a fellow at Harvard Medical School Department of Global Health and Social Medicine as well as Harvard’s Safra Center for Ethics and currently is serving as a fellow of the Nashville Healthcare Council. In addition he is currently serving a 4-year term on the National Institute of Health’s National Advisory Council for Nursing Research; having been honored to receive the appointment from former Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebellius. His for-profit and non-profit experience comes from serving in four health systems, in this capacity his focus has been providing strategic and operational leadership for behavioral health, consumer segmentation, population health, hospital re-design, hospital-housing development, research, innovation, global health, advocacy and ethics. James’s work around health system network composition has encompassed efforts in multiple states partnering with organizations to analyze appropriate asset utilization, diversification and analysis of bed need, and repurposing of an organizations bricks and mortar assets. Corbett has also lectured at Harvard Medical School, Harvard’s School of Public Health and numerous other universities across the country. James has been published in multiple books and journals. Mr. Corbett earned his B.S. in International Relations from Syracuse University, followed by his Juris Doctorate from St. Johns University and a Master of Divinity from Duke University.

Donald Elliman, Jr.

Chancellor of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus since 2012, Don Elliman boasts a successful track record in business and a high-quality reputation in higher education.

A longtime executive in publishing, Elliman worked at Time Warner for 32 years, retiring as an executive vice president of Time Inc. Other positions he held include publisher of People magazine and president of Sports Illustrated.

After Time Warner, Elliman served for four years as CEO of Ascent Sports and then Kroenke Sports Enterprises, overseeing all activities of the Pepsi Center, the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche.

He then served four years in Colorado state government, the first two as executive director of the Office of Economic Development and International Trade, and the final two as chief operating officer for Colorado.

More recently, Elliman was executive director of the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s Charles C. Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology on the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Don Elliman became interim chancellor for the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus in April 2012 and chancellor in February 2013. He assumed responsibility exclusively for the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in September 2014.

Elliman has served as chair of the Children’s Hospital Colorado Board of Directors and co-chair of the campaign to raise funds for the new hospital. He continues on that board as well as the boards of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority, University of Colorado Health, University of Colorado Hospital, Colorado Prevention Center, Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome, National Behavioral Health Innovation Center, Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine, the National Western Stock Show and the Higher Learning Commission.

Clayton Mitchell

Clayton Mitchell (Mitch) is a visionary leader and corporate real estate executive who has consistently built high performing teams capable of delivering transformational real estate portfolio results. His technical and executive acumen were honed through a 25-year career as a U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps officer, serving in various impactful assignments such as; Navy Legislative Fellow to the Senate Majority Leader; Vice President, Global Public Works with Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC); Director, Navy Task Force Energy coordinating energy strategy development across all major Navy Systems Commands, and; Project Executive for the $1B expansion of the National Naval Military Medical Center at Bethesda.

Mitch has leveraged these foundational experiences in creating exceptional value within the healthcare sector, in various executive real estate assignments with Kaiser Permanente and ultimately, as Senior Vice President, Real Estate and Facilities for Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. Over a four-year timeframe, Mitch completely transformed Jefferson’s real estate and facilities (public safety) into an industry leading enterprise shared service, driving $250M in value extraction across the entire spectrum of facilities management services delivery.

Mitch is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (BS Industrial Engineering) and University of California at Berkeley (MS Civil Engineer/Construction Management) and has completed executive management and leadership programs at Tuck School of Business (Dartmouth) and the Harvard Business School.

Mary Morissette, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP leads Hord Coplan Macht’s Healthcare Studio in Denver. She is a recognized leader in the design community and has a comprehensive range of skills that allow her to successfully manage all aspects of a project from contract negotiation, programming and budget development through planning, design, construction administration and occupancy. Mary’s 23+ years of experience in Colorado includes work at Banner Health, Department of Veterans Affairs, UCHealth, Children’s Hospital Colorado, University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus, Denver Health Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, one of the most prestigious honors an architect can achieve.

Mary’s involvement in professional organizations incudes the National Council of Architectural Review Boards (NCARB), Past-chair of Colorado’s’ State Licensing Board for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors and former president of AIA Colorado.

Andrew is one of the founders of Development Solutions Group, LLC, a Colorado-based medical

real estate development and consulting firm. He has been providing professional real estate

consulting services and in-house development management of real estate projects for over 35

years – focusing on medical real estate for the last 25 years. His areas of professional

competency include: Strategic business planning, real estate development strategy, structuring

project financing, ownership entity formation / syndication, proforma development and feasibility

analysis, multiple-location roll-out planning, site identification, land acquisition and due diligence,

risk analysis, contract and lease negotiations, governmental / regulatory approvals, consultant

Andrew’s project experience spans several continents and most major U.S. markets. He has

multi-family projects as well as major infrastructure projects.

Andrew attended the undergraduate degree program in civil engineering from the University of

Colorado and continued his education attending a master’s degree program in Business

Administration with a Project Management Focus from the University of New South Wales in

Sydney, Australia. Andrew received his professional PMP designation as a Project Management

Professional from the Project Management Institute in 1994 and has participated in numerous

continuing education programs in the areas of advanced computer training, project management,

career in various real estate associations including BOMA, NAIOP and PMI and has been a

Victor McConnell

Victor H. McConnell, MAI, ASA has real property valuation & consulting experience

in 40 of the United States, including extensive experience with the valuation of

healthcare related properties. Mr. McConnell’s valuation experience includes

determining Fair Market Value for Stark Law compliance, financing, possible sale or

purchase, allocation of purchase price, ad valorem purposes, and internal planning

purposes. Mr. McConnell has performed valuation assignments for numerous

healthcare-related entities, including a variety of hospitals, physician groups, for-

Steve Carr

Steve has over 40 years of design and project management experience with a focus on

inpatient and ambulatory healthcare services for most of the past 23 years. He is the

health studio lead for TreanorHL and is responsible for advocating for and engaging our

clients and greater community in strategic planning, programming, master facility

planning, and environmental design experiences. Steve is a knowledgeable advocate for

healthy communities and our clients.

Steve supports the global community through participation in the Centura Health Global

Health Initiatives, and the local community with the Center for Health Progress,

previously known as the Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved. He has

spoken at several national conferences, most recently as a Thought Leader at the

Patient Centered Conference held in Savannah, Georgia.
