Jason Burian is a partner in CohnReznick’s Chicago office and a member of the Firm’s Assurance Practice. He also leads the Commercial Real Estate Industry Practice in the Firm's Chicago office. Jason has 12 years of experience in public accounting, providing clients with audits, compilations, compliance, due diligence, agreed-upon procedures, and other accounting services. His clients include real estate operating companies, real estate syndicators, real estate investment funds, and real estate developers.

Jason specializes in the audits of commercial real estate entities, developments benefitting from the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), and employee benefit plans. He is responsible for many aspects of client engagements including planning, determining audit scope, identifying audit issues, selecting audit procedures to be applied, supervising staff, coordinating all fieldwork, establishing budgets, reviewing workpapers , facilitating client communications, and preparing financial statements or reports.

In addition to Jason’s client responsibilities, he develops programs and techniques specifically tailored to auditing commercial real estate entities for the Firm. He also takes an active role in developing staff, recruiting, scheduling initiatives, and leading the Chicago office’s efforts for the Firm’s volunteer and charity outreach.

Mr. Schwartz co-founded Waterton with Peter Vilim in 1995 and serves as CEO and Chairman. Mr. Schwartz is responsible for strategic decisions and leadership of the firm’s business activities and operations, and participates on the Management and Investment Committees.

Prior to co-founding Waterton in 1995, Mr. Schwartz was a vice president of acquisitions for Equity Residential Properties Trust (EQR-NYSE) and from 1985 through 1989 was with AMLI Realty Co.

Mr. Schwartz holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. He is a member of the executive committee, a senior officer and chairman of the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC). He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is previous chairman of the ULI Multifamily Blue Council and a member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA). Mr. Schwartz is a member of the Advisory Council for the Pritzker School of Medicine and the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Chicago, and serves on the Strategic Advancement Committee for the US Holocaust Museum and Memorial in Washington D.C.

Mr. Mutz is the Chairman & CEO of AMLI Residential, which he co-founded in 1980. He received a B.A. from DePauw University in 1967 and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1973. Mr. Mutz served as an infantry lieutenant in Vietnam (1968-69)

Matt Fiascone, president of The Habitat Company, has led a full range of real estate development and investment activities for more than 30 years. Since joining The Habitat Company in 2011, Matt has been instrumental in strategizing, executing and managing capital events including development joint ventures, recapitalization of existing ventures and acquisitions. Matt has also established new relationships for both debt and equity, as well as strategic partnerships.

As president he leads the creation and integration of the vision and growth of Habitat. During his tenure he has overseen the expansion of the company's footprint and assets under management with a focus on continuously enhancing the company's culture for its team members, partners and residents.

Previously, Matt served as senior vice president for Inland Real Estate Development Corporation, where he originated and implemented real estate transactions involving assets valued at over $1 billion and negotiated and managed equity joint ventures.

Matt serves as vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Inland Bank and Trust and is a member of Lambda Alpha (a Land Economics Honorary Society), the Urban Land Institute and the National Multifamily Housing Council. Matt has been a frequent speaker and panelist for industry events. In addition, he is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin and Missouri.

Matt has a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Bradley University.

Todd has negotiated the sale of more than $2.0 billion of assets for the most prominent institutional owners in the industry. In addition to his Midwest expertise, Todd has established himself as one of Chicago’s top performers, with more than $700 million in sales. Todd leads the KIG sales team in Chicago while managing strategic growth throughout the Midwest. Prior to joining KIG, Todd was a Senior Vice President at ARA Real Estate Investment Services.

Todd is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and The John E. Dolibois European Center in Luxembourg. Todd is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio and is an active member of National Multifamily Housing Council and ULI.

Paul Tsakiris founded First Western Properties, Inc. in 1999 and is a leading figure in Chicago’s real estate community. Mr. Tsakiris has appeared as an expert guest on Stock Market Observer, the Chicago Real Estate Council and is frequently quoted in publications such as the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, as well as Crain's Chicago Business. He has also written articles published in Chicago Realtor Magazine.

Mr. Elowe founded Laramar in 2001 after co-founding Elkor Realty Corporation and Elkor Properties in 1989 (Laramar predecessor companies). In his role as President and CEO of Laramar, Mr. Elowe oversees an institutional real estate portfolio valued in excess of $1 billion and is a principal in the Laramar Multi-Family Value Fund. Mr. Elowe is Chairman of the Investment Committee and is responsible for the company’s overall strategic planning, investments, asset management and investor relations. Mr. Elowe is also a founder and principal of Covington Realty Partners, which is a highly regarded sponsor of national Tenant-in-Common and Delaware Statutory Trust transactions. Mr. Elowe has built a successful 25-year real estate investment track record having sponsored and participated in transactions totaling in excess of $4 billion. Mr. Elowe is the recipient of the 2013 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Rocky Mountain region). Ms. Boneham oversees Barings' Central Region equity investment and management activities including acquisitions, joint ventures, asset management and dispositions. Barings maintains a multi-billion dollar real estate portfolio of all major product types with over 50 investments in the Central Region. Ms. Boneham also serves as Portfolio Manager for one of Barings' Separate Accounts. Prior to joining Barings in 2013, Ms. Boneham spent 16 years as a Portfolio Manager and Managing Director for Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management, formerly known as RREEF. In her time there, she was the lead Portfolio Manager for several public and corporate pension fund separate accounts, including the firm’s largest separate account with assets under management in excess of $1.5 billion. She also was President of RREEF America REIT, Inc., the company’s first private Real Estate Investment Trust, and other comingled funds during her tenure. Earlier in her career, she was at Equity Office Properties and Jones Lang LaSalle. Ms. Boneham earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a BBA degree from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. She is active in a variety of professional and community associations, including Urban Land Institute, Pension Real Estate Association, Economic Club of Chicago, Commercial Real Estate Women, the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, and the Thoracic Oncology Council at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In addition to his commercial practice, Devon led the decade long transformation of Loyola University Chicago’s three campuses designing over ten new buildings. Devon’s commitment to sustainability is evident in all three campuses through innovative active and passive energy reduction strategies, like naturally ventilated, double-skin glass façades; hydronic-radiant floors; and geothermal heating and cooling systems.

Devon frequently speaks publicly on issues relating to urban design and residential innovation. He is a longtime member of the Chicago Architecture Foundation and the Loyola University Chicago Library Friends Board; participates in a number of AIA committees, including Design, Environment, and Architecture for Education; and is active in the USGBC and Design Futures Council. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Pennsylvania State University.
