Chris Coleman is the Vice President of Development with responsibility for all of Wingspan Development Group’s lines of business. His responsibilities include development oversight, fostering new debt and equity relationships, and implementing Wingspan’s overall strategic plan.

Prior to Wingspan, Coleman was the Chicago Division President for William Ryan Homes, Inc. Chris started in the real estate business in 1988 as a market analyst with Chicago developer and home builder The Zale Group. His career path took him to Orlando, FL with Morrison Homes and Atlanta, GA with John Wieland Homes, a National Builder of the Year winner.

Coleman returned to Chicago in 1997 to launch his own firm specializing in in-fill redevelopment; leveraging deep experience in entitlement, land development and construction, focusing on communities close to Chicago.

Coleman is active in a variety of industry and charitable organizations, and outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

Ramzi Hassan is the President of Edwards Realty Company, a leading Commercial Development and Property Management firm based in Orland Park, IL.

Hassan has completed over $250M in retail and mixed-use projects since 2003, finding significant opportunity and upside in distressed assets. Hassan’s keen sense of how community drives commerce, combined with his involvement in the music and fashion industry have helped inform his real estate strategy. Edwards Realty Company owns and manages more than one million square feet of commercial real estate property in the midwest. The firm is actively investing in new mixed-use properties in key growth markets.

Hassan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate from DePaul University. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and President-Elect of the Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce and a Member of the Economic Development Committee (EDC) in the Village of Burr Ridge. Ramzi holds his managing broker license in Illinois, Missouri and Michigan.

Heather Maieritsch is the Economic Development Manager for the City of Crystal Lake, Illinois in the Chicagoland area. She has over 19 years of municipal experience in four communities ranging from small to large municipalities. She is well versed in public-private partnerships, real estate development, marketing and working to attract local, regional and national businesses, creating incentive packages, and market views from the suburbs.

Heather received a Bachelor’s of Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Master’s in Public Administration at Northern Illinois University.

She has been at Crystal Lake since 2011 after working as the Deputy Village Manager for the Village of East Dundee where she managed the TIF and Business Development Districts, spearheaded business attraction efforts, created a branding campaign and redeveloped the downtown.

Heather currently serves on several boards and committees including the McHenry Economic Development Corporation, Naturally McHenry County Tourism Board, the International Council of Shopping Center’s Next Generation Leadership Network, the Crystal Lake Chamber Board, the McHenry County Workforce Network, and the Manufacturing Pathways Consortium.

Len Becker

Village of Wheeling

Len is currently the Economic Development Director for the Village of Wheeling. Prior to his appointment in Wheeling last summer, he led the Village of Skokie’s economic development efforts by building additional real estate capacity, spearheadingredevelopment efforts, expanding capital investment, growing employment and regional presence, all of which enhanced municipal revenues. His efforts led to the approval of multiple Tax Increment Financing agreements, and Property Tax incentive projects. These efforts yielded over $300 million in capital investment and over 1500 new jobs.

Prior to relocating back home to Illinois, Len worked for Buckeye, Arizona as Economic Development Director, Vice President of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Director for the Downtown Phoenix Partnership as well as Economic Development Director for the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce to name a few. Over his career, his efforts led to the attraction of hundreds of new businesses, over 20,000 new jobs, and development of millions of square feet of new and redeveloped commercial space resulting in significant economic impacts. He has a demonstrated track record of success in germinating and leading creative and innovative strategic economic development and business development initiatives on behalf of organizations and stakeholders. Len is a member of numerous business and professional organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as the Greater Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce.
