Doug co-founded Fieldlens to solve the problems that he experienced first-hand on construction sites throughout my eleven-year construction career.

As CEO, Doug has managed all aspects of the business including building the initial product, recruiting and managing an incredible team, raising $20+ mm in venture capital, building a successful go-to-market and customer success strategy, and eventually exiting to WeWork in June of 2017.

At WeWork Doug is now leading efforts to take what he created at Fieldlens and expand the impact into all aspects of the lifecycle of a building.

Smart Picture Technologies is disrupting the home and commercial field sales process by taking the traditional truck and tape measure estimation process and replacing it with a Computer Vision powered SaaS measurement platform. Fast and accurate quotes, estimates and proposals can now be accomplished virtually by simply snapping a picture with any smartphone, uploading the picture to the cloud and taking the required 2D or 3D measurements. As Executive Vice President and Regional Manager of McShane Construction Company's Rosemont office, Mat oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm's headquarters and is a pivotal team member in the strategic planning process.

He contributes 18 years of construction experience at the McShane organization with a focus on multi-family residential and the commercial construction markets.

Mat establishes and maintains many of the firm’s relationships with clients, real estate developers and the brokerage community as well as governmental officials, architects and other affiliated industry representatives. He contributes proven leadership and experience providing direction and guidance throughout the region to ensure a growing portfolio of assignments, on-schedule project deliveries and superior client satisfaction.

Since joining the firm in 1989, Mark has played an integral role in the development of the company’s long-term vision, strategic direction, organizational design, and values. He oversees the firm’s operations and is responsible for innovating the way Skender delivers projects. As a pioneer in Chicago’s Lean construction movement, Mark helped create and implement Skender’s industry-leading approach to Lean project delivery. He is also the visionary behind Skender’s integration of design, manufacturing and construction, as well as the firm’s breakthrough modular offering, which earned Skender recognition in 2019 as one of the “world’s most innovative companies,” according to Fast Company. Mark is a board member of the Illinois Housing Council and sits on the board of trustees for Frances Xavier Warde Schools in Chicago. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

A thought leader and top construction technologist, Kevin Bredeson brings his

vision for a technology-rich building industry future to Skender. He is

responsible for strategic oversight and direction of Skender’s complete

technology footprint. Kevin collaborates with Skender leaders to strengthen and

expand Skender’s full-stack technology capabilities—integrating operations-

focused technologies, such as virtual design and construction (VDC) and

building information modeling (BIM), with emerging technologies like virtual

reality and augmented reality.

Kevin has more than a decade’s experience leading technology initiatives for

some of the world’s top construction companies including Suffolk Construction,

Pepper Construction and Gilbane Building Company: Nos. 26, 64 and 13,

respectively, on the ENR 400. His passion for design and construction technologies and deep

background applying them to real-world building projects create an environment of trust and

confidence among a project’s many stakeholders.

Most recently, as vice president of VDC for Suffolk Construction, Kevin was responsible for overall

strategy and overseeing the company’s standards for VDC nationwide. He provided support and

training to VDC staff in each region to ensure teams developed and coordinated models that drove

project safety, budget, schedule and quality.

Throughout his career, Kevin developed a passion for technology that has enabled him to work

collaboratively with owners, architects, project teams and stakeholders, using his knowledge to build

environments of trust and open communication with all project teams.

Kevin graduated from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in construction

management and continues to be involved with the university, serving on its Construction

Management Advisory Board.

As chairman and chief executive officer of The Pepper Companies, Stan is responsible for setting the strategic direction and overall resource management. Stan began working at the company in the field at the age of 15, and quickly rose through the ranks while working in many areas across the organization such as carpentry, marketing and project management along the way. At age 32, Stan became president of Pepper Construction Company.

Stan also worked in private equity, consulting, software development and sustainable products, gaining a broader perspective and additional leadership experience in the industry. In 2015, Stan returned to The Pepper Companies with a management philosophy that has been greatly influenced by his diverse industry experiences as well as by his father, Richard, and his grandfathers, Pepper founder Stanley F. Pepper and Dr. Roscoe Miller, former president of Northwestern University. Stan’s leadership style is routed in serving those he leads, with particular emphasis on capitalizing on new technologies and creating an environment that encourages a multi-generational team approach.

A leading voice supporting innovation in the construction industry, Stan serves on the BIM Forum and is involved in the community as chairman of the McGraw Wildlife Foundation. Stan is an Executive Committee member at his alma mater, Monmouth College.

Jake leads Pepper’s Integrated Construction Services (ICS) team, bringing the firm’s preconstruction services, technical services, and high performance/sustainability capabilities together in alignment with the company’s operational units to innovatively serve clients across the nation in a variety of markets including industrial and manufacturing. Pepper’s ICS team represents some of the most advanced thought leadership in our industry—investigating new technologies, evaluating new methodologies and creating innovative solutions in the field. Jake also works closely with Pepper’ IT group to align project technology with business applications and deliver integrated platforms that create efficiencies at both the business and project level.

Jake earned his MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Business. In addition to serving as a guest speaker for the Masters of Project Management program at Northwestern, and he is an active member of the Urban Land Institute. Outside of work, Jake spends time with his 3 young boys and has a passion for environmental issues, including clean water and sustainable urban farming.

With more than a decade of experience in many different facets of the construction industry, Ralph is an

industry-leading safety director who is responsible for overseeing all safety aspects of construction at

Leopardo. With a hands-on approach, he provides project safety leadership while working closely with the

superintendent and project team to develop a safety plan that addresses specialty issues and logistics that

are unique to your project.

Specifically, Ralph will coordinate safety orientation training, assist in the development and review of

project safety plans, facilitate regular safety tool box talks, perform safety audits that focus on corrective

actions, as well as participate in weekly subcontractor safety meetings.

Ralph is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST), as well as a

Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS). He is also an authorized trainer for OSHA construction

courses and the American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. Ralph is a member of the Construction

Safety Association, Build Safe Chicago, and currently serving as the Professional Development Chair for the

Three Rivers Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Patrick Miller's practice focuses on construction law and real estate litigation. He has significant design-build and P3 procurement expertise and extensive experience with heavy civil and highway construction, process projects, and real estate development. Patrick's practice areas include:
