Emi is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Investment Research at Heitman. She leads the North American and Asia-Pacific research teams, overseeing strategy development and underwriting for all private equity and debt investments. Emi is also a member of Heitman’s North American Private Equity Investment Committee and Valuation Committee. Additionally, Emi analyzes demographic and technological trends and their impact on real estate investment strategy and portfolio construction. She received a BA with honors in Urban Studies from Stanford University and is a member of the Stanford Alumni Real Estate Council, the ULI Global Exchange Council, the Board of NAIOP Chicago, and the Lambda Alpha Ely Chapter.

Seamus joined Old National Bank in 2022 to establish its CRE Institutional Banking group. His team is focused on growing and broadening banking relationships with vertically-integrated, full-service REOC’s, opportunity fund managers, P/E and investment management firms, private and small public REIT’s, established family offices and developers with access to institutional capital. His clients maintain a presence within ONB’s Midwest / Great Lakes footprint, allowing his team to follow them nationally. The team actively pursues project, portfolio and entity-level financing opportunities, from construction to term, across various established and niche property types. Seamus is a member of ULI’s Chicago Product Council and serves and Board Member and past President of the Chicago Chapter of the Real Estate Lenders Association. He has been a CRE lender in Chicago since 2000.

Dan Elrod focuses on commercial real estate transactions involving properties

across the United States. His practice encompasses a wide range of real estate

matters, with a focus on the representation of debt funds, life insurance

companies, and other institutional lenders in the origination of mortgage loans

secured by properties in all asset classes. Dan’s finance experience also includes

loan modifications and workouts. Additionally, he represents institutional

investors with acquisitions, dispositions, and the formation of real estate joint

venture agreements.

In the sports and entertainment sector, Dan was part of a team that represented

an NBA franchise in the development and financing of a new arena, parking

structure, practice facility, and public entertainment plaza. He has also been

involved in transactions concerning the financing of an NHL arena and the

construction and financing of an MLS stadium.

Matthew Berry is a seasoned real estate professional with almost 15 years of experience advising, investing, and practicing law in the industry. He is the Founder and Principal of Wayland Real Estate Capital, a boutique sponsor of real estate investments for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and small institutional investors. In addition, Matthew serves as an independent advisor to The John Buck Company, a premier vertically integrated developer of trophy office and multifamily assets nationwide, where he previously served as Managing Director and focused on partnership and fund formation for the company’s development and value-add investment opportunities. During this time, Matthew led the capitalization of over $450M of single-asset joint ventures and comingled vehicles. Prior to joining JBC, he practiced law at Skadden Arps, where he led the closing of over $5B of real estate transactions. Matthew earned his BS from Northwestern University, and subsequently his JD from Northwestern University School of Law. Matthew’s civic involvement includes positions on the Board of Directors of the Northwestern University Law Fund, the Northwestern University Leadership Circle Chicago Regional Board, and the Board of Directors of the Civic Federation.

Andy is an accomplished real estate investment professional whose experience spans real estate private equity investments and institutional brokerage. He has invested and participated in approximately +/-$2.0 billion in real estate transactions. As CEO of Midloch, Andy is involved in all facets of the business, including working with investors, making investment decisions, and overseeing the company's long-term growth.

Prior to co-founding Midloch, Andy was a vice president at MLG Capital, a highly respected real estate private equity investment firm. Andy was responsible for MLG's private equity division, which oversaw the JV equity acquisitions and strategy. Prior to MLG, Andy was at Palmer Capital, an institutional real estate brokerage company based in California. He participated in approximately +/-$1 billion of real estate brokerage transactions across the West Coast. Andy considers himself a value investor with an appreciation for growth-oriented investing. He believes that people, management teams, and the right locations are the heartbeat of real estate. Andy's idols include Sam Zell (Equity Companies) and Howard Marks (Oaktree). He is a graduate of Marquette University with a degree in finance, real estate, and economics; and he remains active on Marquette's alumni real estate advisory board. Aside from work, Andy enjoys supporting Wisconsin sports teams, traveling, running marathons (four so far), and cycling.”

He has played an instrumental role in helping Alpha Capital CRE execute over $9 billion in real estate transactions during his 15+ year tenure, consistently delivering exceptional results in raising capital, structuring deals, and executing financial strategies aligned with clients & objectives.

Anthony holds a bachelor’s degree from the Tippie College of Business, University of Iowa. He is actively involved in the real estate community, sitting on panels, sharing insights, and staying at the forefront of emerging trends and innovations in real estate capital markets.

Tom leads capital procurement and financing of CRG’s residential developments and acquisitions. He joined the firm in 2021 after nearly 10 years at McCaffery Interests, where he financed assets and development projects worth over $1 billion in value.

In his previous role, Tom led a team responsible for planning, underwriting and financing urban mixed-use developments. He focused on acquiring land and value-add properties, structuring equity investments in joint venture development projects and providing advisory services on real estate investment strategies for institutions, pension funds and high net worth individuals.

Prior to that, Tom was a Managing Director at McKinley, Inc. There he was responsible for asset management and client relationships for McKinley’s third-party management assets. He also lead a team through due diligence, repositioning and financing of multifamily assets in the McKinley’s owned portfolio.

Tom began his career at Borders Group, Inc. where he worked in several finance and real estate positions. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Economics & Management from Beloit College, where he was a Rhodes Scholar nominee, and holds an MBA with High Distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He lives in Chicago with his wife and two kids.

Mr. Borchetta joined Harrison Street in 2013. As a Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of North America Transactions, he is responsible for the sourcing, analyzing, and closing of transactions and venture relationships with a focus on digital real estate and infrastructure assets as well as healthcare. During his tenure at Harrison Street, Mr. Borchetta has acquired or developed over $16.0 billion of data center, medical office, senior housing, and life science assets on behalf of the firm’s discretionary funds.

This includes over $6.5 billion in the digital real estate and infrastructure segments where he has led transactions activity in the sector for the company. As a result of the efforts in the space, Harrison Street was recognized by PERE in the digital category as Data Center Investor of the year for 2022 and 2023 and Mr. Borchetta was recognized by the Tech Capital Global Awards for 2024 as the Under 35 Digital Infrastructure Finance Talent Award finalist. Harrison Street was also recognized as Global Alternatives Investor of the Year during those same periods.

Mr. Borchetta holds a BA from Northwestern University, with a major in Economics, minor in Business Institutions, and a certificate in Energy and Sustainability. He previously served as an alumni member for the Advisory Committee on Investment Responsibility to Northwestern University’s endowment. He has also completed programs sponsored by the Fulbright Commission and Department of Energy, including the Fulbright UK Summer Institute and the Summer Institute on Sustainability and Energy, respectively.
