Harrison Tucker

CEO

CoHab Development

Harrison’s experience living in Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Hong Kong, Chicago, rural Honduras and San Francisco, working in low-income neighborhoods in Nashville, Milwaukee, Washington DC, San Jose and the East Bay, and traveling to the world’s great cities, have given him a unique perspective on how urban environments evolve.

Born and raised in Charlotte by an avid outdoorsman, as he watched the city sprawl outwards, his interest in urbanism formed from a desire to protect our forests and farmland. Later, during his education at UNC – Chapel Hill (BA Economics; BA Philosophy; Minor in Music), through his role as a Business Advisor in Peace Corps Honduras, and under the tutelage of New Urbanism leaders, he developed an understanding of ‘green urbanism’ as a foundational solution to climate change, as a lever for social equity, as economically efficient, and as a promoter of healthy lifestyles. These values now underpin CoHab’s work.

Prior to founding CoHab, Harrison spent nearly seven years developing sustainably-built elementary schools, on tight timelines and budgets, using industry leading construction technology, all located in under-invested neighborhoods. During this time Harrison was responsible for managing $140M in construction, totaling 11 schools, across four states, including two LEED Platinum campuses and the first Net Zero Energy charter school in the United States.
