Angela has been with BA since 2001 and loves being part of a team that designs healthy, comforting spaces that impact people’s daily lives. She attended Clemson University for her undergraduate degree and the University of Tennessee for her Master of Architecture.

An expert in renovation and tenant improvement projects, Angela enjoys the challenges inherent in the work—understanding the technicalities, addressing the codes, and solving the puzzle of how to make a welcoming space within existing confines. She has known she wanted to be an architect since the 6th grade, when she began purchasing Architectural Digest and Home Builder magazines and drawing out her own elevations. She is the first member of her family to go into a discipline other than teaching.

Fearon Melton

Founder & Managing Principal

Resilient Real Estate Partners

Fearon Melton is the Founder and Managing Principal of Resilient Real Estate Partners. She heads the advisory business for healthcare and academic providers in need of institutional real estate guidance. She also leads the investment platform for Resilient’s institutional partners seeking sector level expertise in the valuation and risk assessment of medical office real estate. She delivers investment decisions by analyzing healthcare industry insights, real estate market data points, and demographic trends. These decisions are similar to the analyses she conducted in her past position as a senior investment professional at MBRE Healthcare, which is now known as Remedy Medical Properties. While on that lean team, she worked to build the medical office portfolio from ~$350M in 2013 to more than $5B in 2020. These acquisitions were exclusively for the benefit of Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors, who managed ~$10B of assets at that time. Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors is the subsidiary of LA based Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, which ultimately managed ~$26B of AUM during the same period. Those medical office acquisitions were approximately 19% of Kayne Anderson Capital’s total assets under management. Her group was consistently recognized as one the most active buyers and largest institutional owners of medical office real estate, many years participating in more than 10% of all closed medical office transactions for the year.

Before MBRE Healthcare, Fearon completed M.B.A studies at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, where she concentrated in finance, accounting, and real estate. Prior to obtaining her graduate degree, Fearon worked in New York with J.P. Morgan’s investment bank and for a regional accounting firm in Charlotte, North Carolina. She received her

bachelor degrees in Economics and Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Patrick Faulkner

Senior Partner, Healthcare Development

The Keith Corporation

Patrick Faulkner is the Senior Healthcare Development Partner at The Keith

Corporation with over 22 years of healthcare development experience. His

expertise in design, construction, and development of over $800 million worth of

healthcare facilities ranges from standard medical office buildings to cancer

centers, free standing emergency departments, surgery centers, and acute care

hospitals. Over his career, Mr. Faulkner has delivered over 500,000 sq ft of

clinical medical office space and assisted 5 different healthcare systems develop

342 licensed beds and 28 operating rooms in both greenfield and campus

expansion settings.

Mr. Faulkner has spent his entire career exclusively in healthcare development in

the Carolinas, developing primarily in Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC.

Throughout his career Patrick has successfully navigated multiple challenging

land acquisitions requiring intense permitting and entitlement efforts. His tenacity

and natural drive to solve complicated problems helped turn several partially

undevelopable parcels into thriving manifestations of their highest and best use.

Patrick has also led the TKC Healthcare team in several value add building

acquisitions and has experience transforming existing structures into specialized

adaptive reuse opportunities. Notably, Mr. Faulkner led the process of converting

an existing office building into an inpatient facility in NC. Not only did this project

require an occupancy status conversion from Business to Institutional, but it also

contains a secure behavioral health wing for involuntary admit patients, requiring

extreme life safety construction measures.

Patrick Faulkner and The Keith Corporation Healthcare Development team

genuinely look forward to providing capital and development solutions for

delivering turnkey healthcare facilities, helping physicians and healthcare

systems deliver high quality healthcare to growing communities and patients.

Why You Should Attend This Event

Why This Matters:

The major hospital systems that provide care for the Charlotte metro area continue to add additional facilities as the region continues its growth. This has led to new systems entering the region, as well as rapid expansion efforts to capitalize. This event will cover, in part, what the consolidation of larger providers means for market activity and patient care. As healthcare needs continue to evolve, medical office properties are filling in coverage gaps in locations closer in proximity to patients and have been spurred on by those same growth dynamics. Some of the major systems are even participating in this ecosystem. Bisnow and its assembled panelists, will detail the largest dynamics influencing the healthcare real estate space and the long term opportunity it presents. Join us, as we aim to better position you in search of your next deal.

What You'll Learn:

  • Where are healthcare system development projects centralizing within  the region?

  • What types of facilities carry the greatest public health need, and how do these align with financial performance for systems?

  • What impact will the consolidation of systems have on investment activity and patient care?

  • What impact will major systems acquiring and developing medical office properties have on the local ecosystem?

  • How are MOB's filling in coverage gaps geographically and from a care specific perspective?
