Laura Brink Pisinski ’06MS is Vice President of University Real Estate Development and Facilities Management. Her teams are responsible for facilities and auxiliary services, conferences and events and public safety.

Primarily focused on efforts to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the campus physical plant through real estate deployment, facility renovation and utilization and institutional master planning, she also maintains significant relationships with key donors and University volunteers. In addition, Brink Pisinski leads the 13- member Simmons University COVID-19 Recovery Task Force.

During 16 years of service to Simmons, Brink Pisinski has held positions of increasing responsibility and scope. She started as a front-line fundraiser and over 11 years advanced ultimately to the position of Associate Vice President of Advancement. Following a successful career in fundraising, she served as the Chief of Staff to President Drinan, and was appointed to lead the One Simmons campus plan. She continues to oversee that $450 million initiative, the biggest real estate and master planning project in Simmons’ history.

Before coming to Simmons, Brink Pisinski worked in enrollment management, where she chaired the annual meeting for the New England Association of College Admission Counselors for two years as well as a presidential task force on retention. She holds a B.A. from St. Lawrence University and a master’s degree in communications management from Simmons University.

Kristi has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate and construction industry. She has diverse project experience in the master planning and project management of mixed-use and residential developments, retail and entertainment facilities, academic buildings, and healthcare facilities for private and public sector clients. These diverse projects have included new construction, renovation, and historic rehabilitation. In addition, Kristi practices collaborative methodologies and principles of Integrated Project Design and Lean Construction and has managed multi-layered cross functional stakeholders leveraging her facilitative skills to drive critical decision making. In Kristi’s role as Institutional Services Lead, she guides large institutional clients through complex master plans, feasibility analyses, and capital project implementation including Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Boston Medical Center, and the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM).

Jonathan Splaine is a Partner and Project Executive at AHA Consulting Engineers. Jon brings his 20 years of experience in the engineering industry to serving as AHA’s Academic Market Sector Leader. He has served local clients such as Northeastern University, Harvard University, Boston College, and Simmons College while working on a variety of program types. Jon received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

As Principal of Lessard Design, Joseph Ahmadi brings his experience with various projects within diverse markets, including but not limited to multifamily, adaptive reuse, student housing, planning and new construction of retail and entertainment-driven mixed-use environments. Joseph is a licensed architect registered in numerous states and has more than 20 years of professional experience in the industry from project conception through completion. He has a unique perspective on design, having studied and lived overseas, in addition to almost ten years of experience with international clients.

Heather Henriksen has served as Harvard University’s chief sustainability officer since 2008, advising the President and senior leadership on strategy and building an organizational change enterprise. Heather directs the Office for Sustainability which oversees the implementation of the Harvard’s comprehensive Sustainability Plan (co-created with faculty and students in 2014) and the University’s ambitious new Climate Action Plan (to be fossil fuel-free by 2050 and fossil fuel-neutral by 2026), which builds upon the 2016 achievement of Harvard’s initial science-based climate goal.

The Office for Sustainability has expanded a multi-disciplinary living laboratory research program that partners with faculty and students to use the campus as a test bed for piloting and sharing innovative solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. A nationally recognized leader in healthier building materials, Heather is leading an effort with faculty within Harvard to translate research into practice, in partnership with business and non-profit leaders, to address the use of chemicals of concern in common building products, as well as more broadly addressing health and well-being in the built environment. Heather also advises courses throughout Harvard College and the professional graduate schools and speaks nationally and internationally on sustainability.

Heather is on the Board of Directors of the Health Product Declaration Collaborative and Built Environment Plus. Heather serves as Advisory Committee Co-chair of the International Sustainable Campus Network, and she is a member of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2). She advises the Higher Education Working Group of the Boston Green Ribbon Commission, co-managed by Harvard, and the City of Cambridge’s Compact for a Sustainable Future. She is a member of the Sustainability Working Group for the Council of Ivy Presidents. Heather holds a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Jaclyn Olsen is a director in Harvard’s Office for Sustainability where she provides strategic input on the University’s climate goals and sustainability efforts. She has been part of the sustainability team since the Office was formed in 2008 and has helped lead the effort to build a culture of sustainability at Harvard. In her role, Jaclyn collaborates with faculty, staff, and students on vital priorities including the development of the University’s first and second-generation climate goal implementation plans, and the holistic Sustainability Action Plan which was released in 2014 and updated in May 2023. Her focus is on Harvard’s large-scale goals to be Fossil Fuel-Free by 2050 and Fossil Fuel-Neutral by 2026.

Jaclyn’s leadership experience includes key roles in regional partnership groups like the Boston Green Ribbon Commission where she served as Harvard’s representative on Higher Ed Working Group, and the Cambridge Compact for a Sustainable Future where she served as co-vice chair. Previously, Jaclyn worked at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs Leading by Example Program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

As Director of Energy for Arch Energy, a division of Consigli Construction Co., Inc., Kailash leverages over three decades of engineering and operations experience to help clients navigate through different stages of the decarbonization journey by planning and implementing low-carbon infrastructure strategies.

Jill is a highly experienced building enclosure consulting and has contributed to the design and delivery of high-performance building enclosures for buildings around the world. Our clients benefit from the depth of her technical knowledge – especially in building performance modeling – as well as the breadth of her project experience in envelope thermal performance. Jill’s work has focused in particular on balancing daylight and heat gain in glass facades, and on maintaining air and vapor control across various building-enclosure assembly types. A BEC Chapter Chair and NFRC voting member, Jill believes in the power of rigorous scientific analysis to drive outstanding building performance.

Charlie Murphy serves as an Associate Partner at JB&B, where he heads up the firm’s Boston office.

Since joining the firm in 2008, he has led the design and development of HVAC, plumbing and fire

protection systems across multiple project types.

Charlie’s experience in higher education includes numerous buildings at the Columbia University

Manhattanville campus, SUNY Cobleskill Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources, and NYU Langone

Health’s Science Building. He has also been instrumental in the expansion of JB&B’s Science &

Technology practice in Massachusetts.

Charlie’s passion for sustainability and a low-carbon future has inspired him to push the envelope on

traditional higher education design and develop unique solutions for each of his projects, including the

design of low-carbon lab buildings. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering

from Loyola University Maryland.

As Vice President of Sales, Jack is responsible for the overall framework and management of Evolution’s go-to-market strategy. With a history in Commercial Real Estate Management and a passion for sustainability, Jack’s focus at Evolution is to find creative approaches to improve corporate bottom-line performance through energy conservation measures, energy risk management, and ESG Solutions.

Chuck Hurchalla is the president of Evolution Sustainability Group. He has over 30 years of experience in the deregulated energy markets, including natural gas, electricity and petroleum products. He is considered a subject matter expert on hedging strategies and the fundamental and technical drivers of movements in the energy markets, including renewable products. In addition, he has been instrumental in helping clients develop comprehensive energy management solutions that meet or exceed energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

Purnima Kapur is Harvard University’s inaugural Chief of University Planning and Design. She

oversees Planning and Design for all of Harvard University’s Campuses in Cambridge, Allston,

the Longwood Medical Area as well as Harvard’s long range, and multi-phased work in Allston.

She is a visiting faculty member at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and has also served as

an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and

Preservation (GSAAP).

Purnima has more than 25 years of experience in the New York City Planning Department,

culminating with her appointment as the Executive Director of the City Planning Department,

where she oversaw all land use planning and policies for the City of New York’s neighborhood

planning studies, economic development, and resiliency initiatives. Purnima is one of the key

architects of New York City’s groundbreaking Mandatory Inclusionary Housing regulation.

Under her leadership, the city adopted five Integrated Neighborhood Plans in four boroughs, as

well as an innovative plan for the redevelopment of Greater East Midtown. Prior to that

Purnima was a key player in the redevelopment and transformation of Brooklyn for over two

decades, leading high-priority and transformative projects, including the development of

Greenpoint-Williamsburg, Downtown Brooklyn, and Coney Island among other neighborhoods.

Over the years, Purnima has also provided consulting services on planning and development

projects in several US Cities as well as internationally.

Purnima holds a master’s degree in City Planning and Architecture Studies and a Master of

Science of Architecture Studies from MIT. She also holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the

School of Planning and Architecture Delhi.

As Co-President, Mahmood is responsible for co-managing Leggat McCall Properties and identifying new business opportunities. As a senior principal in the firm, he is a member of LMP’s Investment Committee and Executive Committee.

During the past 30 years with Leggat McCall Properties, Mahmood has had an active role in more than $2 billion worth of investment and development activities. Prior to his current role, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer for the company and was responsible for LMP’s third-party, fee-for-services activities, which were in excess of 14 million square feet of real estate. Prior to that, Mahmood was the Senior Vice President of Leggat McCall Properties, directing the Company’s Mid‑Atlantic development activities from Washington, D.C.

Mahmood is currently acting as a real estate advisor to several institutional owners, including Harvard University, Northeastern University, Tufts University and The First Church of Christ, Scientist on a wide range of strategic and transactional real estate matters.

Prior to joining Leggat McCall Properties in 1983, Mahmood worked in general contracting and civil/structural consulting in the Boston area.
