Ed Kindelan is the Office Managing Partner of CohnReznick’s Boston office and leads the Commercial Real Estate practice in the New England Region. Ed is also an active member in the Hartford business community. He focuses on client service and firm growth within our Connecticut and Massachusetts offices. He works closely with CohnReznick partners to ensure we provide the full depth and breadth of CohnReznick resources to our clients.

As a member of the Commercial Real Estate Industry Practice, Ed provides assurance, tax, and advisory services to commercial real estate developers, property managers, private equity funds and investors. He has extensive experience in providing business, succession and estate planning to closely-held businesses and their stakeholders. He regularly participates in Commercial Real Estate panels on a variety of topics.

Mr. Manning is one of the two original founders of Boston Capital Corporation, which was formed in 1974. From its beginning, Boston Capital’s goal was to focus on providing equity investment capital for the development of apartment properties throughout the country. Under Mr. Manning’s leadership as CEO for the past 43 years, Boston Capital has grown into one of the largest owners/investors in apartment properties in the United States. Through a number of affiliated partnerships, Boston Capital’s present portfolio is comprised of approximately 1,855 properties with an original development cost in excess of $18.7 billion. These properties are located in 49 states, the Virgin Islands and Guam, both of which are U.S. territories.

As CEO of Boston Capital, Mr. Manning continues to oversee the company’s business development goals. Capitalizing on its core competencies of tax credit investment underwriting, those business development goals include an expansion of investment capital for market rate real estate investment as well as providing mortgage financing for a limited and exclusive number of property acquisitions.

Mr. Manning is a recognized leader in the housing and real estate industries, and has served on the boards of a number of national housing organizations and governmental commissions. In 1997, President Clinton appointed Mr. Manning to the President’s Export Council, a board comprised primarily of Fortune 500 CEOs that advised the President on government policies and programs that affect U.S. trade performance. He was also a Presidential appointee to the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts. Mr. Manning serves on the boards of numerous organizations and charities including The Alliance for Business Leadership, the American Ireland Fund and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library Foundation, where he is Chairman of the Distinguished Visitors Program. Mr. Manning is also a member of the Board of Directors of Liberty Mutual Group, the parent company of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, and sits on Liberty Mutual’s investment and compensation committees.

Larry DiCara is among Boston’s most recognized attorneys and civic leaders. A frequent speaker at colleges, universities and other venues, as well as a regular go-to source in Boston media, Larry has taught at Harvard, Boston University and the University of Massachusetts. Larry practices real estate and administrative law and has been intimately involved with the development process in and around Boston for more than 40 years.

Ms. Erlich joined Trinity Financial in 2010 and has served as project manager on a number of projects including the Lucerne Gardens re-capitalization and the Mattapan Heights Phase 5-A development. Ms. Erlich has also worked on the Washington Village Choice Neighborhoods Initiative project in Norwalk, CT and is currently overseeing the redevelopment of the Northampton Square Campus, a 558-unit mixed-used and multi-phased project in Boston’s South End. Prior to starting at Trinity Financial, Ms. Erlich worked as a land use planner for the City of New York’s Department of Citywide Administrative Services’ Division of Real Estate Services. Ms. Erlich holds a Bachelor’s degree in Metropolitan Studies and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from New York University.

Ronald J. Walker, CPA, is a partner in CohnReznick’s Boston office and a member of the Firm’s Assurance

Practice. He has extensive public accounting experience with a focus on the affordable housing and

commercial real estate industries.

Ron provides services that include eligible basis cost certifications, affordable housing investment

partnerships, and residual value studies. His clients include real estate entities around greater Boston and

across the country, including California, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Ron is fully versed in the stringent

reporting requirements and deadlines of such agencies as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban

Development (HUD), the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and various state tax credit allocating

agencies.

John Hynes is the CEO and Managing Partner of Boston Global Investors. Prior to the formation of BGI in April, 2010, Mr. Hynes spent ten years as CEO and Managing Partner for Gale International and served as the driving force in the company’s aggressive expansion both domestically and in Asia. During his tenure at Gale, Mr. Hynes was the deal originator and managing Partner for the successful development of One Lincoln (now known as State Street Financial Center) and initiated Boston’s Seaport Square project. He also secured the massive New Songdo City project, a US $35B, 100 million square foot master planned city near Seoul, South Korea, one of the largest private real estate projects in the world today.Prior to joining Gale, Mr. Hynes spent ten years as a broker with the Codman Company and RM Bradley & Co. and ten years as the local development partner with Lincoln Property Company. During that time he participated in more than three hundred leasing and sales transactions in the Boston market totaling over six million square feet and developed three office projects totaling two million square feet with an aggregate value in excess of one billion dollars.

Currently, Mr. Hynes is focusing on the development of the 6M SF mixed-use Seaport Square project which is to be completed within this decade. John remains committed to and active within the Boston and Cape Cod communities and sits on the board of several non-profits and professional organizations. John is a graduate of Harvard College where he captained the 1980 hockey team.

Prior to founding KIG Real Estate Advisors (“KIG”), Mr. Krebs has over 25-years of real estate investment

and development experience ranging from institutional investment management at UBS and JP Morgan

to opening and leading the vertically integrated private equity firm Normandy Real Estate Partners

Boston office.

KIG operates under two ventures, Strategic Land Ventures (www.strategiclandventures.com) and

Washington Square Ventures (www.wsvllc.com), platforms that focus on residential development from

land acquisition and permitting through vertical development. KIG has a strong track record of the

successful re-zoning and permitting of its sites under special permit and Chapter 40b, creating significant

land value prior to the vertical development of its projects. KIG currently has 580 units in 5 apartment

projects under development throughout the Boston Metro, totaling over $225 million in total

development cost.

Prior to founding KIG, Mr. Krebs was a Partner at Normandy Real Estate Partners, responsible for

opening and overseeing Normandy's Boston office. During his 10 years at Normandy, Krebs built a $2

billion dollar office and residential portfolio with notable projects including the foreclosure,

repositioning, and sale of the John Hancock Building (now 200 Clarendon), the acquisition and

repositioning 99 Summer Street in downtown Boston, assembling and permitting Center 128 in

Needham, a 2 million square foot mixed project which included the development of Trip Advisors Global

HQ, and the permitting, design and development of Troy Boston, a 378-unit residential project in

Boston’s South End, co-developed with Gerding Edlen.

Mr. Krebs began his career in New York holding positions with global investment management firms UBS

and JP Morgan. While at JP Morgan, Mr. Krebs held the title of Senior Vice President and team leader,

responsible for more than $4 billion in real estate investment and development on the East Coast. At

UBS, Krebs was an Assistant Vice President, investing more than $500 million in equity into real estate

for pension funds and foreign investors. Mr. Krebs is a graduate from Providence College and has a MBA

in Finance from Fordham University.

Fred’s commitment to “design with community in mind” translates into his active engagement in numerous industry, cultural, and philanthropic organizations—where architects’ problem-solving abilities stand to make a real difference. A past chair of the Urban Land Institute, Fred is also a member of the Boston Society of Architects and NAIOP.

Prior to joining Stantec, Fred was the long-time president of ADD Inc. There, his focus on diversifying markets and services created a well-balanced multidisciplinary practice, and his mentorship of young designers and mid-career professionals cultivated the next generation of design and management leaders.

Anthony Bucchere serves as Vice President & Counsel – National Business Development for the National Commercial Services division of First American Title Insurance Company. His responsibilities include the origination and coordination of title insurance business through law firms, REITs, developers and capital market sources.

Anthony joined First American in April of 2014 after working as a commercial underwriting counsel with another national title company since 2007. He has experience handling all types of commercial transactions across various asset classes and commercial markets.

Anthony is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is a member of the Boston Bar Association, ULI, and the Real Estate Finance Association. He lives in Scituate, Massachusetts where he serves on the Zoning Board of Appeals.

A founding member of Redgate, Lisa provides strategic real estate services for institutional and investor clients. Her focus is on large, complex urban development projects with specific areas of expertise in pre-development strategy, financial feasibility, infrastructure, and government relations/approvals. Lisa has successfully worked with developers and government agencies to structure public/private partnerships and mechanisms for alternative financing to enable investment and development in projects that have a substantial public component. Lisa has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry and her clients include major institutions such as MITIMCo, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Massachusetts Port Authority, as well as private landowners.

Prior to co-founding Redgate, Lisa was a National Director and Senior Vice President of Development at Jones Lang LaSalle where she was responsible for major project development as well as for evaluating potential real estate investments for the firm’s direct investment funds.

Robert has a unique ability to see past the surface of a project to discover the opportunity hidden within. He also recognizes the importance of strong relationships in this business; over the past 25 years, he has built and maintained strong relationships with tenants, lenders, investors, partners, and professionals alike. Robert founded Mark Development (MD) in 1990 after serving seven years as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions for Triangle Capital, a national, commercial real estate developer.

Robert’s vision and his passionate, hands-on leadership are the fundamental drivers of MD’s efficiency in acting on deals where time is of the essence. Currently, he is working on commercial developments in downtown Boston, Cambridge, and Newton.

Real estate is in Joel’s DNA. The son of a Cuban architect, he grew up in Miami, traveling to inspect sites with his father and even helping to design two of his childhood homes. After attending the University of Florida and Harvard Law School, Joel became a partner at Goulston & Storrs. After leaving to conduct real estate deals on his own, he soon joined his friend, Steve Samuels, who was looking for some help in growing a development company.

Joel is passionate about seeing a new district come to life after years of work. “That’s the best part, watching our new project come to life and be woven into the fabric of the community in which it resides.”

Outside of work Joel enjoys being, quite literally, outside. He loves cycling, boating, tennis “and any other sports I can still survive.” He’s also quick to add, “I’m a big fan of American craft beers.”

Joel serves as Chair of the Boston Main Streets Foundations and as a member of the Board of Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation, a non-profit CDC that builds affordable housing and promotes economic development in Roxbury.

Portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, joint venture structuring, complex financings, mezzanine and participating debt transactions and distressed debt workout and sales are at the heart of Zev Gewurz’s practice. Zev has a broad-based practice representing institutional and private equity lenders, foreign and US-based investors, as well as owners and developers across the United States and abroad. Zev is a Director in our Real Estate group and serves as Co-Chair of the firm's International Investors group.

Liz Skidmore started her carpenter’s apprenticeship in Boston, Massachusetts 29 years ago.

After completing her apprenticeship and working in the field for 10 years, she worked for a

general contractor as an estimator and then assistant project manager, before being hired by the

Carpenters Union in 1999.

She worked for her union in a number of positions ranging from Organizer to Business Manager

of New Hampshire Local 118 to Assistant to the General President of the United Brotherhood of

Carpenters (UBC), helping set up Carpenters “Sisters in the Brotherhood” women’s committees

throughout the US and Canada. In 2014, she started a pre-apprenticeship for women in New

Hampshire, funded by WIOA. In her Local, she has held elected positions of Financial Secretary

and Delegate. She leads a Carpenters women’s committee that has met monthly for 20 years,

and was on the steering committee for three of the four UBC International Women’s

Conferences. Skidmore served on the NH State Apprenticeship Advisory Committee, and

currently serves on the Massachusetts Workforce Development Board, and on the Governor’s

Apprenticeship Advisory Group.

In 2008 she co-founded the Policy Group on Tradeswomen’s Issues (PGTI), a regional ‘think-

and-action tank,” with the goal of making change for tradeswomen at a bigger level. PGTI now

includes 75 stakeholders including tradeswomen, city, state and federal officials, building trades

unions, national construction managers, local subcontractors, academics, community groups, and

elected officials. This group has been the vehicle to build political support, break down silos of

expertise and develop know-how to increase the numbers of women in the trades in

Massachusetts, which have more than doubled since 2009 after decades of stagnation, with a

goal of 20% women by 2020, using integrated supply and demand strategies. Today, PGTI plays

a direct role in monthly meetings enforcing compliance with hiring goals on over $3.5 billion of

work in Massachusetts, thereby increasing the demand for women.

In 2015, she helped found Massachusetts Girls in Trades, which works to build a stronger

pipeline between girls in CTE schools and the union building trades apprenticeship programs,

thereby increasing the supply of women.
