Friedman is the President and CEO of Carpenter and Company Inc., a hospitality and luxury

residential real estate development firm based in Cambridge, MA. He is known for his creative

approach to hotel developments, the reuse of historic structures, and transformative mixed-use

projects.

Friedman is the visionary behind the famed transformation of the former Charles Street Jail, a

historic landmark on the National Register of Historic Places, into the beloved Liberty Hotel in

Boston, MA; the Charles Square Mixed-Use development, a vibrant destination that includes The

Charles Hotel in Cambridge, MA; and New England’s tallest residential building, Four Seasons

Private Residences One Dalton Street, Boston, which The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban

Habitat recently recognized as a best tall building worldwide. Carpenter also developed Iceland’s

first five-star hotel, The Reykjavik EDITION, as well as St. Regis San Francisco, and various

other Four Seasons, Hyatt, and Marriot hotels. As a former long-term member of the Board of

Directors of Four Seasons, Friedman was actively involved in the company’s global expansion

and design quality. His firm is currently developing Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences

Dallas, Turtle Creek.

Friedman’s contributions to the public realm have been recognized with a variety of awards,

including Man of the Year from Boston Preservation Alliance; the Icon Award from Boston

University School of Hospitality; Developer of Year from Americas Lodging Investment

Summit; and Man of the Year from Rogerson Communities.

Beyond real estate, Friedman is known for his long-standing dedication to civic service,

philanthropy, and education. During the Clinton Administration, he served as Chairman of the

National Capital Planning Commission, the federal government’s central planning agency for the

National Capital Region. President Barack Obama appointed Friedman to the President’s Export

Council, where he served as Vice Chairman of the sub-committee advising on U.S. travel and

tourism policy and he is also the founder of the Interagency Security Task Force.

Friedman’s board participation spans across various organizations and nonprofits, such as the

Steppingstone Foundation, an organization that named him Man of the Year; Bridge Fund; John

F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum; PNC Bank – New England; Johnny Rockets, Inc.;

GateHouse Media, Inc.; and the Dartmouth College Real Estate Committee. He is a recipient of a

Certificate of Appreciation Award from Harvard Business School and has been recognized by the

Boston Minuteman Council of the Boy Scouts of America with a Good Scout Award.

Friedman is a graduate of Dartmouth College. He is an avid skier and served as the Harvard Ski

Team Head Coach from 1965-1971.

Dan Kenary serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mass. Bay Brewing

Company, aka, the Harpoon Brewery or MBBC. Dan graduated from Harvard College in

1982 with a degree in American History then earned an MBA from the University of

Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1985 while working at the First National Bank

of Chicago. Frustrated with the lack of beer options, Dan left the bank in 1986 to co-

found Harpoon. Dan has served on the Institute of Brewing Studies Board of Advisors,

as director and treasurer of Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, a local environmental

advocacy organization, president of the Boston Marine Park Business Association, and

founding president of the Massachusetts Brewer’s Guild. He currently serves as

Chairman of the Associated Industries of Massachusetts, the Commonwealth’s largest

employer association. In 2014 Dan led Harpoon through its transition to employee

ownership through the creation of the Harpoon Employee Stock Ownership Plan

(“ESOP”). Originally from Worcester, Dan lives in Wellesley with his wife, Julie, and

has four children.

Dan’s favorite festival is Harpoon Octoberfest, favorite post-run beer is Harpoon IPA,

and favorite place to drink beers is on the patio of his house in Vermont.

Mass. Bay Brewing Company was founded on the Boston waterfront in 1986. The

brewery’s line of craft offerings includes their award-winning IPA and UFO beer, along

Mike Davis, FAIA, is Bergmeyer's President. Committed to sustainable design at its deepest level, he is also an effective advocate for progressive public policy and a staunch defender of the quality of the public realm. In addition to his many civic and professional involvements, Mike is a recent President of the Boston Society of Architects, is currently Chair of the BSA Foundation, and is chair of the Boston Civic Design Commission. Experienced in adaptive reuse and new construction, Mike has been Principal-in-Charge of some of Bergmeyer's most significant housing, mixed use, institutional and commercial building projects. With an imaginative view of a project’s potential and a firm understanding of the many variables involved in community building, he provides our clients with clear vision and valuable insight.

At home in his cherished Boston neighborhood, Mike is ebullient about the city. He sees Boston as an increasingly diverse and multicultural world-class center for the rapidly-expanding 21st century creative economy. Still proficient with sketchbook, tracing paper and magic markers, he has also earned master's status in social media and Tweets and blogs more than he probably should.

Mike holds a BS in Architecture from Penn State and a Master of Architecture from Yale University.

Adam Romanow is the Founder and President of Castle Island Brewing Company. A lifelong resident of the Boston area, Adam’s professional background includes time in management consulting, strategic market research, production brewing, and sales and marketing for the beer industry. As the Company’s President, Adam has oversight and responsibility for business strategy, brand philosophy, and sales and marketing. Adam is an experienced home brewer, an avid cook, a lover of the outdoors, a musician, and a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan. Adam graduated from Connecticut College in New London, CT, with dual degrees in Economics and Philosophy.

Rob is part of a trio of friends who left their day jobs to follow their passion for brewing. In early 2012 Rob and his two other Co-Founders launched Night Shift Brewing in Everett, MA. For the past 5+ years Rob has lead the brewing team at Night Shift pushing for innovation and the creation of unique world class beers. In the fall of 2016 Rob and his Co-Founders launched a second business venture, Night Shift Distributing. Rob now leads this disruptive beer wholesale operation as well as the brewing operation as the President. Additionally, Rob also serves as a the President of the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Brewers Guild where he works to protect and promote the state's brewing industry.

Caitlin is Co-Owner/Co-Founder/CMO of Somerville Brewing Company, the makers of Slumbrew craft beer. She and her husband Jeff have recently launched their second location American Fresh Brewhouse at Assembly Row and reopened their third location American Fresh Beer Garden. Caitlin's work focuses on creating outstanding retail destinations that draw affluent young professionals, female craft beer enthusiasts and the very hot but less sought after baby boomer market. As a mother of 2 little boys she is passionate about creating family-friendly craft beer retail experiences. Typical of small businesses she's handling the HR, Marketing and event books the Saturday night bands. Prior to opening the brewery, Caitlin was the Co-owner of Silverscape a Marketing Technology which specialize in the Architecture, Engineering Construction world.

Will serves as Head of Sales and co-founder for Bully Boy Distillers. Having an extensive business background, Will also manages the company’s finances and Bully Boy’s ever-evolving strategic vision. Growing up with a passion for quality craft distilling and entrepreneurial experience, Will has helped grow Bully Boy from a startup operating on a shoestring budget into a significant regional player in the world of spirits. In addition to his keen financial acumen, Will lends his palate to the occasional “quality control” tasting.

Michael A. Feldman is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Feldman, the

leading professional land surveying firm in Massachusetts and owner of 152 Hampden

Street which is a 21,000 SF mixed use building featuring office and brewery space.

He was his own owner’s rep for the due diligence, acquisition, design and adaptive re-

use of 152 Hampden Street which is a brick and beam, former factory building built in

1856. In addition, he marketed the tenant space and managed the leasing activities

that landed Backlash Beer Company and Tap Room in the first floor space.

Michael oversees the overall direction of the surveying firm and manages the financial

and marketing activities. Previously run by his father and grandfather, Feldman

continues to add to its successes through Michael’s insistence on superb client service

and the use of cutting edge technologies.

Under Michael’s leadership, Feldman has been recognized in several Boston Business

Journal lists, including “Pacesetters,” “Fastest Growing Companies” and as one of the

region’s largest family businesses. His dedication to investing in new technologies has

earned the business a reputation as the go-to firm for emerging practices such as 3D

laser scanning and BIM. And the company’s success with this emerging market has

attracted positive media attention from The Boston Globe, New York Times, Associated

Press, CBS Evening News, NECN, as well as the Discovery Channel.

Michael is a humble but noteworthy philanthropist. He supports many local charities and

non-profits including Friends of Boston’s Homeless, Victim Rights Law Center, Dana-

Farber, American Heart Association, Multiple Sclerosis, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation,

Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, as well as many others. He is a current Board Member

of Historic Boston, Inc. and was also on the Board of Overseers of the Newton-

Wellesley Hospital as well as the School Council at the Mason Rice Elementary School

in Newton.

In an effort to document and give back to the rich history of the City of Boston, Michael

founded “Scanning Historic Boston.” For this unique charitable program, his firm

performs 3D Laser Scanning of three historically significant buildings each year on a

pro-bono basis. The results are breathtaking 3D, digital archives of Boston’s historic

architectural treasures.

Michael is a graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

An avid music enthusiast and percussionist, Michael studied Latin percussion

with teachers at the Berklee College of Music and in Trinidad, Cuba, and he’s

played with various musical groups in the U.S. and abroad.
