Kevin Smith is the owner of Smith Horizon, LLC, a real estate development consulting business that helps developers efficiently navigate the local, state, and federal permitting and entitlement processes. Smith Horizon’s expertise spans residential, large-scale mixed-use, industrial, and commercial projects of all sizes.

Before founding Smith Horizon, Kevin served as Town Manager of Londonderry, New Hampshire for nine years. During his tenure, Londonderry became the fastest-growing community in the state, adding nearly $250 million in new commercial and industrial value. He was also recognized with the Home Matters in NH Award for his outstanding efforts in promoting diversified housing opportunities.

Kevin was previously appointed as Chairman of the Pease Development Authority by Governor Chris Sununu for five years and has also worked as a Special Assistant to both Governor Craig Benson and U.S. Senator Bob Smith.

He resides in Londonderry with his wife, Suzy, and their three children

Jay Minkarah, Executive Director at the Nashua Regional Planning Commission, has worked in planning and economic development in New England for over twenty-five years. Prior to coming to the Nashua Regional Planning Commission in 2017, He served as President & CEO of DevelopSpringfield Corporation in Springfield, MA, as Economic Development Director for the cities of Manchester and Nashua, NH, Community Development Director for the Town of Merrimack, NH and as a planner for the Nashua Regional Planning Commission. Jay received a Bachelor of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati in 1986 and a Juris Doctor from The University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center) in Concord, NH in 1994. Jay is a member of the New Hampshire Bar and active in several planning, economic development and arts and cultural organizations.

Ben Brown is Vice President of Business Development, NH, for Callahan Construction Managers, where he leads client engagement, strategic growth, and market development across Northern New England. 

With more than 10 years of experience in the New Hampshire and Maine development markets, Ben works closely with developers, architects, engineers, and municipalities. His experience spans multifamily, affordable housing, senior living, commercial, and mixed-use
development. 

Ben is actively involved in housing and development policy discussions throughout New Hampshire and serves on the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Business & Industry Association (BIA), where he participates in discussions focused on housing, development,
and the state’s business climate. In 2026, the BIA recognized him as an “NH Champion of Commerce.

Jamie Brewer, SVP and New Hampshire Regional Market Manager, brings 20 years of banking and financial services experience to the New Hampshire Commercial Banking team. A trusted advisor, he has supported businesses of all sizes across New Hampshire, Southern Maine, and Northern Massachusetts with expertise in C&I lending, commercial real estate, and liquidity strategies.

Before joining Machias Savings Bank, Jamie served as SVP, Commercial Relationship Manager focused on middle market C&I lending. His career also includes roles as a branch manager, business banker, and special assets manager.

Originally from Northern Maine, Jamie has spent the last 20 years in the greater Portsmouth area. He holds a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and an M.S. in Banking and Financial Services Management from Boston University. Dedicated to his community, he volunteers as Treasurer for Lamprey Health Care. Outside of work, Jamie enjoys skiing, golfing, and time with his family.

John’s practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions and development. He represents owners, developers, retailers and investors in the acquisition, permitting, development, financing, leasing and operations of commercial properties and shopping centers throughout the Northeast. He has handled numerous complex matters involving the intersection of real estate, municipal, and state law, including public-private partnerships, development agreements, long-term ground leases, impact fees, tax abatements, betterment assessments, and exactions. John regularly appears before planning and zoning boards and other regulatory agencies in connection with commercial and residential real estate projects. John also has significant experience in negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements, leases, development agreements, restrictive covenants and related documents for complex commercial real estate transactions.

John is a long-term member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, where he serves on the Planning Committee for the Annual New England Idea Exchange. He is also a Member of the prestigious International Counselors of Real Estate. John earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the College of the Holy Cross, and his J.D. degree, with highest honors, from Duke University School of Law. John practices regularly in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire and is a member of the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Bar Associations. John serves on Hinckley Allen’s Executive Committee.
