Wendy Gettleman is currently employed at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts as Vice President of Facilities Management and Real Estate. In this role, Wendy has oversight of Facilities Operations; Planning, Design and Construction; Real Estate & Energy Management; General Services including Parking & Transportation; Telecom, Conference Services and Food Services. Wendy guides the Facilities agenda including major capital construction and renovations (FY19: $450M in active projects), continuity of plant operations for all DFCI sites (2.7M square feet) and master facility space planning efforts.

In her prior position as Senior Director of Planning, Design & Construction, Wendy directed design and construction of 25-35 annual capital projects with combined capital budgets of over $130 Million with a team focused on lean design principles, safe construction and fiscal responsibility.

Wendy joined Dana-Farber in 2005 as Senior Project Manager then as Director of Project Management for the Yawkey Center for Cancer Care. In those roles, Wendy led the project team from design through construction and occupancy in January 2011, bringing in the $330Million project under budget and ahead of schedule. In this position, she has become a leading expert in facilitating patient and family input into design, presenting this topic at the 3rd International Conference on Patient- and Family-Centered Care. In addition, the Yawkey Center Project earned gold LEED status and has received numerous project management awards.

Wendy began her major construction project management career at Boston Children’s Hospital in 2001 as Senior Project Manager with a $136 Million hospital expansion project, again achieving project completion on schedule and on budget. Prior to that, Wendy was employed for 10 years with Sodexo’s Healthcare Division in operations management and division leadership positions.

As one of the most experienced leaders in medical equipment planning, Scott consults with clients to strategize how to upgrade existing facilities through the development of multi-year capital budgets to acquire, upgrade, and replace new technologies.

His 25-year tenure includes product management, account management, and sales account management for leading medical equipment manufacturers around the world.

As the Medical Equipment Planning Group Managing Principal for Ross & Baruzzini, Scott is responsible for business development, strategic planning, procurement strategies, vendor partnerships, and ongoing client relationships. Through years of project implementation with Ross & Baruzzini | Mitchell Planning clients, Scott has led the evaluation of numerous product lines from Imaging to Surgery and Inpatient Care.

Ron Goodin, ASHE, LEED AP BD+C, is a recognized leader in the industry with over 35 years of experience in healthcare design. Before joining Colliers Engineering & Design as the National Healthcare Market Leader, Ron held an owner's role at a multihospital network, where he was responsible for design, construction, strategic planning, and overseeing the network's engineering department. This experience and his time in construction management give him a well-rounded understanding of healthcare organizations' strategic and operational needs, resulting in successful projects in hospital networks nationwide. His collaborative approach and problem-solving mindset make him a trusted partner in healthcare development, ensuring that every project enhances patient care and supports the industry's evolving needs. Ron is also an active member of ASHE and NEHES.

Recently, Ron has managed and designed multiple ground-up medical office building projects, focusing on creating spaces that meet the operational needs of healthcare providers while enhancing patient care. He has also moderated four panels in the past year on medical office buildings, sharing insights on current trends and best practices in healthcare architecture. Throughout his career, Ron has received multiple CBC Design Awards and an ENR Regional Design Award for his exceptional work.

With over 21 years of experience, Eric Libby joined Wise Construction’s team in 2011 as Project

Executive. At Wise, Eric leads projects for well-known healthcare and biotech clients

throughout Greater Boston. Clients such as Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer

Institute, East Boston Neighborhood Health, Merk Millipore, Bristol Myers Squibb, Forsyth,

Takeda and Watts Technologies have led him into some of the area’s most sensitive and

logistically complex spaces. Actively involved in field operations, he is a strong problem solver

and communicator who successfully utilizes the latest technologies to multi-task between

planning, scheduling and organizing. Eric proves again and again that no challenge is too great

Kathleen Chavanu Gorman, MSN, RN, FAAN, is Executive Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Operating Officer. Kathy is a nurse leader who has advanced patient safety, quality, and clinical resource management to improve care outcomes and inform policy for children and families.

Kathy rejoined Children's National from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where she served as Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, and Assistant Dean of Clinical Practice at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Prior to her tenure at CHOP, Kathy was at Children’s National as Vice President of Quality and Clinical Support Services until 2009. During that time, she also led the Quality Program, Clinical Resource Management Program, and Family Service Department, and played a critical role in the process of achieving Magnet® status in March 2010.

Kathy has presented and published extensively on quality, safety, outcomes and leadership in healthcare. In advancing the national agenda on improving child health through pediatric quality, she has led and participated in committees under the National Quality Forum, The Leapfrog Group, Children’s Hospital Association (CHA), American Board of Pediatrics, Institute of Medicine and others.

Kathy serves on the Board of Directors for The DAISY Foundation and the Quality, Safety and Performance Committee for CHA. She was the recipient of the distinguished Alumni Award for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and is a graduate from Wharton School of Business: Johnson & Johnson Nurse Executive Fellow program.

In 2017 Kathy received the American Hospital Association’s prestigious Grassroots Champion Award for Washington, DC, in recognition of her tireless advocacy on behalf of patients, hospitals and communities.

In addition, she has been recognized as a top woman leader by Becker’s Hospital Review in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Kathy was inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing in 2014.

She received her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Nursing.

Frank Thalakotur is a Professional Engineer and Project Manager at AKF Group, an award-winning engineering and integrated services firm specializing in innovative design solutions for the built environment. In his role, Frank brings over ten years of mechanical engineering and project management experience, facilitating the design and construction of healthcare buildings and spaces. He has an in-depth understanding of the drivers pressing today’s healthcare institutions while staying abreast of the latest industry design trends. He successfully leverages this expertise to complete clinical and research spaces for many of the nation’s leading healthcare organizations across the East Coast. Frank is well-versed in the specific requirements of local authorities and utilizes that knowledge to adapt projects to meet state guidelines. He understands the importance of ensuring healthcare facilities

remain fully operational throughout a project, keeping critical and life-saving systems online.

Matthew Odell, RCDD, has more than 25 years of extensive ICT experience with design and

implementation of data, telecom, security, and complex A/V systems, focusing on healthcare clinical

systems, i.e. physiological & fetal monitoring systems, Nurse call, Telemetry, RTLS, Patient Engagement,

and operating room integration. Matt is currently the Director of Technologies for S2N Technology

Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Clark Construction Group, where he leads the newly formed

Healthcare Technology Center of Excellence team. S2N includes Technology Integrators, Designers and

Consultants for large construction and renovation projects. In his role, Matt actively consults with

business owners, architects and designers early in the project phase to map out the scope, system

recommendations, budgets, infrastructure design and system integration requirements. Given his in-

depth experience, Matt also provides clinical process planning based on data collected from the various

clinical technology systems installed. Some of Matt's noted customers include Johns Hopkins Health &

University, Inova Health, University of Maryland Medical System, MedStar Health, Army Replacement

Hospital at Camp Pendleton, The Museum of the Bible, and Legacy International. Prior to his 9 years at

S2N, Matt was employed by Johns Hopkins Hospital (15 years) which included overseeing the IP

megaplex design and implementation of a new 1.6-million sq.-ft. John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

During his career, Matt has been an active contributor to Building Industry Consulting Service

International (BICSI) including four years on the Board of Directors as Northeast Region Director, Subject

Matter Expert for wireless standards, healthcare and other committees, and a frequent speaker. Matt

has been featured in industry publications for his outstanding infrastructure design, convergence

schemes and technology implementation at major hospitals and has often presented on technology

design and installation best practices.

David Storto is executive vice president and chief strategy and growth officer of Wellforce, the Eastern Massachusetts health system that includes Tufts Medical Center, Tufts Children’s Hospital, Circle Health, MelroseWakefield Healthcare (formerly Hallmark Health) and Home Health Foundation. Together the system, founded in 2014, has more than 2,000 physicians and 13,000 employees across its community hospital and academic campuses.

David is highly regarded for his track record of successfully leading organizations through periods of rapid growth and transformation, while ensuring optimal consumer and employee experience. Prior to joining Wellforce, David served as president of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, which includes two rehabilitation hospitals, a long-term acute care hospital, a skilled nursing facility and 28 outpatient sites. Spaulding has consistently been ranked by US News & World Report as a top rehabilitation hospital and in 2021 was the #3 hospital in the nation.

David led Spaulding’s development as a member of Mass General Brigham, formerly Partners HealthCare. The award-winning organization, which cared for many of the catastrophically injured survivors of the Boston Marathon bombings, has garnered national acclaim for its inclusive and sustainable design and LEED Gold Certification. Spaulding is home to Harvard Medical School’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and its residency program has been ranked #1 by Doximity. David also created and then led Mass General Brigham Home Care for 23 years, growing the organization into one of the largest home care systems in Massachusetts.

Prior to joining Mass General Brigham and Spaulding, David was the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, another nationally ranked hospital. He served in progressively responsible roles during his 18-year tenure and was recognized for his expertise in operations management, program development, strategic planning and governance.

David has served on the Massachusetts Hospital Association Board of Directors and the Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association (AHA). He was also as a member of AHA’s Post-Acute Care Strategy Steering Committee and vice chair and board member of the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA). David has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Boston Business Journal’s Champions in Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award, the AHA’s Grassroots Champion Award and the MHA William Lane Hospital Advocate Award. Most recently he received the 2020 Edward A. Eckenhoff Memorial Award for national leadership and advocacy from AMRPA.

David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, with distinction, and a master’s degree in social service administration from the University of Chicago. He received his juris doctor degree from the Loyola University School of Law.

Brian Carlisle oversees all aspects of operations and strategy for Celera Properties, a Boston-based real estate investment and development firm focused on the healthcare sector in the Northeast. Brian founded the firm in 2018 and has grown the portfolio to ~$100 million of owned, managed and currently under agreement projects across 400,000 square feet of medical office and life science properties. Prior to founding Celera, Brian led the investment team at Longfellow Real Estate Partners while that firm acquired and developed 3 million square feet of life science and office real estate representing $750 million of investment with institutional capital partners. Those activities resulted in one of the largest private life science portfolios in the US. Before that, Brian was a co-founder of a startup in the media technology industry and worked in investment banking. Brian was an Edward Tuck Scholar with High Distinction at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame.

Candice Barter is an Associate Vice President and Healthcare Principal in the Boston office of HGA, serving the Northeast Region. She has extensive planning and design experience in facilities for top tier healthcare institutions, such as Boston Children’s Hospital, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Mass General Brigham. Her work at HGA combines her expertise with evidence-based research and carefully listening to clients to craft a solution that is unique to their project needs.

As a committee member for the Facility Guidelines Institute’s (FGI): Guidelines for Emergency Conditions – Surge Capacity Considerations Committee, Candice worked alongside industry thought leaders researching the needs of organizations in various emergency conditions such as the pandemic. She co-authored a white paper entitled, Patient Journey Reconsidered, which looks at the patient journey and the effects of Covid-19 on patient and staff needs as well as recommended design solutions for meeting those needs. Candice is an active member of the Healthcare Associated Infections Organization, chairing a committee for their Healthcare Surge Solutions Taskforce.

Jamie Gilman has more than a decade of experience delivering complex construction projects. Jamie began her career in Clark’s headquarters in Bethesda, MD, amassing an impressive portfolio of educational, residential, lab, and healthcare projects before relocating to the firm’s San Francisco office in 2010 where she continued her work with these project types. In addition to her work in the field, Jamie has extensive preconstruction (development) services experience, including work on the New Stanford Adult Hospital and UCSF Block 34 Clinics Project. As a Vice President, Jamie oversees the development and delivery of projects of varying types in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jamie recently relocated to New England to expand Clark’s presence in the region.

A George Washington University graduate, she also holds Executive Education Certificates in Leadership and Management from Darden Business School at the University of Virginia. Jamie lives in Rhode Island with her husband and two daughters.

Michael Greeley is a Managing Director with Newmark's Medical-Academic Practice Group in Boston, overseeing the team’s medical office building sales platform. Focused on submarkets surrounding hospitals, universities and Medical-Academic clusters, Mike specializes in investment sales, institutional consulting, tenant representation, agency leasing and acquisition/disposition services on both a local and national level. His clients include a host of top healthcare and academic clients and his major medical-academic sale experience includes Boston Medical Center Portfolio ($180 million), Steward Health Care Portfolio ($100 million), 50 Staniford Street ($124 million), Kenmore North ($144 million), Landmark Center ($525 million), Waldemere Medical Plaza ($47 million), 67 South Bedford at Lahey ($55 million) and Worcester BioTech Park at UMass ($40 million). Kristi has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate and construction industry. She has diverse project experience in the master planning and project management of mixed-use and residential developments, retail and entertainment facilities, academic buildings, and healthcare facilities for private and public sector clients. These diverse projects have included new construction, renovation, and historic rehabilitation. In addition, Kristi practices collaborative methodologies and principles of Integrated Project Design and Lean Construction and has managed multi-layered cross functional stakeholders leveraging her facilitative skills to drive critical decision making. In Kristi’s role as Institutional Services Lead, she guides large institutional clients through complex master plans, feasibility analyses, and capital project implementation including Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Boston Medical Center, and the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM).

Josh is a project executive and Northeast leader for the Healthcare Core Market at DPR Construction, one of the top technical builders and the #2 ranked healthcare builder in the U.S. (Modern Healthcare 2021). With 22 years of industry experience, Josh has built ground-up healthcare facilities and complex occupied hospital renovations for industry leaders such as Baystate Medical Center, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Elliot Hospital, and Newport Hospital. Currently, he serves as project executive on DPR’s largest healthcare project in the Boston area. Josh’s leadership improves efficiency, quality, and safety on every project through methods such as integrated project delivery (IPD), prefabrication, pull planning, virtual design and construction (VDC), and target value design (TVD). This forward-thinking has led to the successful execution of over $800M and $1.7 Million SF of healthcare projects on occupied medical campuses throughout New England. Josh is a member of NEHES and has collaborated with the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) for over 10 years in addition to helping form the Southern New England LCI Community of Practice. He volunteers at Northeastern University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and UMass giving lectures to students in the construction, architecture, and civil engineering programs. He holds a Masters in Finance and Real Estate Investment from Bentley University and a Bachelors degree in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology and is a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional.

Lisa Davey has an extensive background in structural engineering design and analysis, investigation and litigation support services. She is equally at ease with the renovation and expansion of historic buildings as she is with the design of new structures. Lisa is especially adept at forensic investigations and has provided litigation support for delay, standard of care and failure claims as well as for the largest construction claim in UK legal history. Her portfolio encompasses commercial office buildings, residential, cultural, healthcare and educational facilities and transportation projects.Lisa manages all aspects of design and construction. Her responsibilities include coordinating and supervising the technical aspects of projects, and interaction with all members of the project team.

Rick Kobus is a Founding Partner and Senior Principal at Tsoi Kobus Design. He is an award-winning architect, strategic planner, and real estate advisor with over 40 years’ experience leading project visioning and implementation plans for complex and large-scale master planning, programming, and real estate assessments for academic medical centers, translational research and education institutions in Boston, nationally, and internationally.
