Douglas J. Manz is a Partner and the Director of Development at The HYM Investment Group, LLC. HYM is currently leading the development of over eighteen (18) million square feet of mixed-use development in Greater Boston, including Bulfinch Crossing (Government Center Garage Redevelopment) and Suffolk Downs. Mr. Manz previously served as a Development Partner for JPI and Vice President of Development for Northland Investment Corporation where he focused on the permitting and development of high-rise, mid-rise and low-rise multifamily projects. Prior to that, he held various positions with Leggat McCall Properties in Boston. In 2013, Mr. Manz was appointed to and served on the City of Cambridge Transportation Advisory Committee and is a member of ULI and NAIOP. Mr. Manz is a graduate of Cornell University and the Harvard University School of Design.

Joëlle Jahn is a Senior Associate, Technical Principal, and Project Manager leading WSP’s Built Ecology group in Boston. She works closely with clients to provide energy and carbon benchmarking, Net Zero Carbon approach, renewable energy analysis, and broad sustainability strategy for a variety of project types. Joelle brings an ability to organize, analyze, and manage data while leading clients to develop Net Zero Energy and Carbon goals. Joëlle is a Technical Advisor to the City of Boston’s Net Zero Carbon Zoning Code and Co-Chair of the Carbon and Energy Roundtable for Built Environment Plus. She has been invited as a guest lecturer and design critic at the BAC, Wentworth, Northeastern School of Architecture, Cornell University and the Academy of the Arts San Francisco.

Dailey Tipton has spent many years in senior positions of management where he is recognized for his expertise in energy and sustainability. He has a long history of growing companies, from start-up to Fortune 500 in size. As the leader for revenue generation for Evolution Energy Partners, Dailey focuses on creating opportunities for customers to drive impact to their bottom line through energy management projects while increasing their sustainable footprint. Prior to EEP, Dailey worked at CPower as a General Manager, SAP as the leader for Energy Management and Sustainable Applications Center of Excellence, DATUM as part of the management team and created, launched and managed a highly successful SAP sustainability practice for ERM.

Dailey started his career as a Naval Flight Officer and is a Veteran of Foreign War with multiple recognitions including two Navy Achievement Medals. He holds two degrees in Engineering: MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University. In his off time, Dailey is a competitive runner, cyclist, long distance open water swimmer and sails boats competitively. Dailey is on the Board of Directors for US Patriot Sailing, a wounded warrior program that provides support to the “Silently Wounded” warriors. Married 34 years to Jessica, who he met at Auburn, with two children Nate 30 and Leah 27.

Mark comes to IWBI with more than 20+ years of experience in the commercial interiors industry. Most recently, Mark promoted workplace health and wellbeing technology solutions through his Integration Wellbeing LLC and, prior to that, had been servicing multinational corporations as Regional Vice President of Global Accounts with Interface since 2012. As IWBI’s Senior Director of Global Market Development, Mark’s work illuminates the benefits of enhanced human health and wellbeing in the built environment. Focused in the Americas, Mark supports global organizations intent on implementing research-backed solutions through the WELL Building Standard (WELL)™. Further to these efforts, Mark assists senior stakeholders in leveraging the positive impact that WELL has on Human Capital reporting goals, including ESG, GRESB, and UN SDGs.

Inspired by his insight meditation practice, Mark brings a personal passion for mindfulness to his professional work. Mark also embraces health and wellbeing as an avid hiker and cyclist; and enjoys creating healthy meals to entertain family and friends in his downtime. A native of New Haven, Conn., Mark is a graduate of Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and holds a Post Baccalaureate Teacher Certificate in Middle Grades Math from the University of North Georgia. Mark is a member of CoreNet Global and the Institute for Organizational Mindfulness (IOM).

Christopher (Chris) Gray is the Chief Technology Officer of RENU Communities. As CTO Chris oversees the technoeconomic evaluation of RENU’s carbon-neutral energy efficiency retrofit program as well as the company’s technology and platform development. Chris has an extensive background in energy and engineering. He spent over 15 years working within the energy industry in a variety of roles including technology R&D, sales, key accounts, and business development. Chris has a PhD in civil engineering and an MS and BS in mechanical engineering. Chris is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states, and is also a licensed mechanical contractor.

Scot Horst is the founder and was the founding CEO of Arc Skoru Inc. a technology company established to build Arc, a state-of-the-art digital platform. Arc, available at Arcskoru.com [2], allows any project – whether a space, single building, community or an entire city - to measure improvements and benchmark against itself and projects around it.

Previously, Horst was chief product officer for the U.S. Green Building

Council (USGBC) where he has oversaw LEED or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, the world’s most widely used green building rating system. Horst led the evolution of LEED through LEED 2009 and LEED v4. He guided the establishment of LEED as a single global system allowing projects to benchmark themselves anywhere in the world. He founded the LEED International Roundtable to guide this strategy, now comprised of 41 countries and responsible for LEED technical development around the world. This approach grew LEED’s presence in more than 162 countries and territories.

Horst spearheaded the performance version of LEED, which uses building data to provide feedback on actual building performance. The system scores the built environment, from homes to neighborhoods to cities and was introduced in 2013 as the LEED Dynamic Plaque.

Horst co-authored “An Integrative Design Guide to Green Building” and

speaks widely on LEED and the transformative power of green buildings. He

serves on multiple boards and has advised the Sustainable Building Alliance

in Paris, Cradle to Cradle, and the World Economic Forum’s Buildings

Retrofit and Finance Steering Committee.

Prior to joining USGBC, Horst was president of 7group, a leading green

building consultancy, and Athena Institute International, a nonprofit

dedicated to the life cycle assessment of buildings. He created a

carbon-offset program with the Climate Trust for cement and concrete

companies that reduced Portland cement clinker in thousands of projects,

mitigating more than five hundred thousand metric tons of carbon.

Horst holds dual bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and voice performance

from Oberlin College and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He previously

sang opera professionally and maintains a furniture design studio.

Will Duggan serves as ESG Program Manager at EBI Consulting. In his role, he led the development of the ESG consulting practice at EBI for clients, which includes ESG reporting services, ESG audits and strategy development, and climate resiliency analysis. Along with managing strategic partner relationships between EBI and ESG reporting organizations such as the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark, Will is contributing to internal ESG initiatives and goal development. Outside of his work at EBI, Will serves on the CREFC sub-committees for ESG Education and ESG Transparency. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in engineering from Lehigh University.

Damien Chaviano is a real estate professional with strengths in all aspects of real estate financing, management and development. Damien marries a vision for outstanding placemaking with an understanding of how to permit, finance and market projects. He has applied this skill set to projects ranging from free standing single use buildings to large mixed-use projects in urban and suburban communities.

At MARK Development (MD), Damien is involved in all facets of the development process, including leading roles in permitting, project design and marketing. He has direct responsibility for the capital structuring and deal underwriting of the company’s mixed-use projects. Since joining MD, Damien has helped source a pipeline of 2.0+ million square feet of development, with an estimated total project cost of $1.0 Billion. To capitalize the portfolio, Damien has identified strategic partnerships with both high net worth investors and institutional capital sources with a long term “generational” investment horizon.

Before joining MD, Damien was part of the Samuels & Associates team responsible for bringing several notable projects to the Fenway and Allston neighborhoods in downtown Boston. In addition to participating in acquisition efforts, Damien sourced structured debt (including EB 5), preferred equity and common equity for projects such as Pierce Boston, Continuum, Van Ness, Verb Hotel and Landmark Center (401 Park).

Outside of the office, Damien serves on the board of Milagros Para Ninos at Children’s Hospital and serves as a Director of O’Brien Brothers, a Burlington Vermont based development company. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Urban Mixed use Product Council and volunteers with College for Every Student, a nonprofit that helps underserved youth “prepare for, gain access to and succeed in college.” Damien also sits on the real estate committee of the Newton Needham Chamber. He was recently named to Boston Business Journal’s “40 under 40.” Damien is graduate of Middlebury College and received a MSRED from MIT.

Justin MacEachern returned to Gilbane Building Company in 2024 as vice president and business leader of Gilbane’s Building Company’s Massachusetts and Northern New England offices. A well-known and respected construction leader, Justin brings years of experience and established relationships with local and national clients, developers, architects, and other real estate leaders to this role. From 2017 to 2023, Justin was the director of construction for Boylston Properties, where he oversaw the highly successful development and construction of Arsenal Yards in Watertown, MA, a 750,000 SF, nearly $1 billion mixed-use, ten-building development consisting of life science, multi- family residential, hotel, and retail uses. Before his role at Boylston Properties, Justin spent ten very successful years working for Gilbane as a senior project executive overseeing projects for such clients as Reebok, Alexandria Real Estate, State Street Bank, Google, and the Boston Red Sox, to name a few. Justin is committed to building upon Gilbane’s solid foundation of inclusion and diversity and advancing workforce development. He is very active in the Massachusetts real estate community, most notably as a NAIOP MA Silver Gavel member and member of the Board of Directors for the Boston Chapter of ACE Mentoring, where he co-chairs the ACE fundraising committee.

Blake Jackson, AIA is the US Northeast Sustainability Design Leader for Stantec. His work focuses on the nexus between sustainability, wellness, and resiliency, serving as a company-wide resource for projects, particularly those seeking third-party certification/s. He has 17+ years’ experience in planning, retail, hospitality, labs, healthcare, commercial, higher-education, workplace and multifamily projects. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, GA and his Master of Architecture in Sustainable Environmental Design from the AA Graduate School in London, UK. Blake is a prolific author, speaker and educator, and he recently served as the Vice President for Advocacy (2016-2018) with the Boston Society of Architects (BSA). In 2015, he was named a national “40 Under 40” built environment professional by Building Design + Construction Magazine. In his spare time, he enjoys distance running, travel, cooking, and spending time with his dog, Trudy.

Michael O’Reilly is an Associate Principal and Director of Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB)’s Boston office. Michael provides expert Construction Consultancy services to owners, architects, engineers, and other construction professionals, by helping them manage all aspects of the feasibility, cost, and time of major construction projects. Michael has served on some of RLB’s most prestigious projects including Miami’s Brickell City Center and MGM National Harbor in Maryland. He is a trusted advisor of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), the University of Massachusetts, and has provided cost consulting services for the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center Expansion and Boston Logan International Airport’s Terminal E Expansion. Michael is a Certified Cost Professional and member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Queensland University of Technology and brings 17 years of experience serving clients both nationally and internationally across a variety of industry sectors.

Rhian is a construction attorney focused on procurement, from basic design, bid or build to the more complex methods and public-private partnerships. Rhian has extensive international experience in the construction industry, having previously practiced in London, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia. Rhian advises on national and international hospitality, development, energy, water, and transportation projects and is currently advising on cross-border projects as well as projects located throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Rhian advises clients at every stage of a construction project. She provides upfront counsel to clients in the structuring of their procurement as well as drafting Requests for Proposals and bid documentation. She also drafts and negotiates construction, design and consultant contracts tailored to reflect the project specific commercial objectives and the risk tolerances of the individual client. Rhian remains actively involved in every stage of a project and frequently provides real time project advice, including dispute avoidance guidance.

Rhian also specializes in the preparation and analysis of claims and represents clients in the resolution of disputes. She represents clients in resolving construction-related disputes in DRB, mediation, arbitration, and litigation proceedings.

Kathy leads all construction and design implementation for MP Boston and assists in all development activities. She excels at running large-scale urban construction projects and is an advocate for local preservation, ensuring that all projects uphold the rich history of Boston.
