Mark brings 20 years of industry experience to the Firm and is a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee. As Head of the North American Transactions platform, he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the North American Transactions group. In addition, he is responsible for sourcing transactions and forming joint venture relationships. Mark is also a member of the Firm’s Environmental, Social and Governance Committee and a Sponsor of the Harrison Street Network of Women (HS NOW) affinity group.

Prior to joining Harrison Street, Mark was at Morgan Stanley within its Merchant Banking Real Estate Investing Group. While there, he sourced, underwrote and closed acquisition and joint venture opportunities in the US, Canada and Mexico for several of its funds. In this capacity, he analyzed potential acquisitions, development and redevelopment opportunities across the capital structure, property types and risk/return fund parameters.

Mark graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a BBA in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics as well as Finance, Investments Banking. He is a member of the University of Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association.

William Kane has served as our Executive Vice President, East Coast & U.K. Markets since January 2019. For over 20 years, he has served in various leasing and development capacities in Massachusetts, New York, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Prior to joining BioMed in October 2008, he was responsible for the development of R&D, hospital, and office real estate development projects for the Fallon Company, Davis Marcus Partners, Lyme Properties, and Turner Construction. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Tufts University and Master of Business Administration Degree and Master of Science Degree from Boston University.

Bill currently lives with his wife and four children in Marblehead, MA.

Jason Weissman

Jason S. Weisman was born in Boston, MA. He attended Newton South High School, graduated from Curry College in three years and received an MBA from Babson College. While attending university, Jason began his career in real estate working for a local brokerage company and that is where he fell in love with the built environment and the art of the deal.

Mr. Weissman founded Boston Realty Advisors in 2001. At the time, Jason was a pioneer, one of the first in the industry to embrace the live-work-play model, now known as “mixed-use”. He launched the firm with multiple service lines under one roof – created leadership roles for multifamily, office, retail, hospitality and user housing – and became the largest, independent real estate services firm in New England.

Mr. Weissman manages the investment sales and capital markets platform, with an owner-aligned philosophy. He represents some of the most distinguished investors on strategic real estate matters, having transacted millions of square feet worth billions of dollars throughout his career.

Mr. Weissman is an industry thought leader and enjoys a reputation of being creative and an out-of-the-box thinker. He regularly appears in local and industry publications, is a part of the Forbes Real Estate Council and has been a guest speaker at Harvard, MIT and Suffolk University.

Jason advocates to preserve the authenticity of Boston, while also ensuring its growth as a leading city of global innovation. He is the founder of The Broadway Company, a real estate investment company with over 60 investment properties in North America and is an active member of numerous organizations including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Mr. Weissman’s advises on the largest transformative projects in Boston; from concept through delivery. His dedication to Boston extends to multiple special cause issues and organizations including Boston Children’s Hospital and Combined Jewish Philanthropies. He is an avid runner and a foreign film buff, including credited as executive producer for multiple films. He and his wife reside in South Boston.

David Himmel is a Managing Director and the Chief Operating Officer of Jamestown Real Estate Services, which consists of Development & Construction, Architecture, Retail Leasing, Creative & Marketing, and Property Management. In this role he is responsible for the day-to-day management of these departments and their execution within Jamestown’s portfolio. Mr. Himmel joined Jamestown in 2014. Previously, he worked at Forest City Ratner Companies in Development on projects including the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and New York by Gehry at 8 Spruce Street. Sara Shank is a managing director at PGIM Real Estate and global head of Innovation. Based in New York, Sara is responsible for developing and implementing technology solutions and data strategies across investment, asset management, operations and client servicing. This includes leading the change management of process, systems, and culture. Sara oversees the Systems organization working in close coordination with all investment and function areas. She is a member of the Global Investment Committee.

Prior to joining PGIM Real Estate, Sara served as a managing director, head of Portfolio Management at Beacon Capital Partners. In this role, she was chair of the Portfolio Committee and a member of the Investment, Management, Internal Credit, Due Diligence and Debt Committees in addition to being responsible for driving innovation in the firm. During her tenure, Sara oversaw the review, screening and implementation of multiple new technologies and platforms across the company.

Sara has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a master of business administration from Tuck School of Business. She has been a founding member of numerous industry organization councils including the ULI National Real Estate Technology Council and CREtech Leadership Board. Roelof focuses on technology and innovations within the multi-family, office, and hospitality real estate asset classes. He led Fifth Wall’s investments in Lyric, Eden, Appear Here, Hippo, Industrious, Loggi, Recharge, Lime, and Aurora Solar.

Previously, Roelof worked at Norwest Venture Partners, Evercore Partners, Goldman Sachs, and Bridgewater Associates.

Roelof is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, from Emory University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Craig Todaro is a real estate lawyer who serves as a trusted advisor to institutional investors, REITs, real estate funds, private investment managers, private equity firms and wealth managers, family investors and real estate operators in connection with complex real estate transactions.

Craig is experienced in the deployment and management of capital in commercial real estate markets and provides practical legal advice and counsel in all areas of real estate, including joint ventures, recapitalizations, acquisitions and dispositions, and lender and borrower-side mezzanine and mortgage financings (with extensive experience in Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae transactions).

Through his work, Craig has become familiar with real estate issues particular to many types of industries and projects, including but not limited to issues associated with multi-family developments, student housing, office developments, data centers, hospitality and leisure facilities, retail sites, and mixed-use developments.

John Barros is a husband, father of four young children, community development leader, small business owner, Boston’s first Chief of Economic Development, and a former mayoral candidate for the City of Boston. A lifelong resident of Boston, John’s parents emigrated from Cabo Verde to Boston, where he attended both public and Catholic schools. At age 14, John became a community organizer with the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI), the Roxbury and Dorchester-based community land trust; later, John became the Executive Director of DSNI, where he worked alongside community leaders to build schools, community centers, affordable housing and parks. As Chief of Economic Development, John brought 140,000 new jobs to Boston, while also investing millions of dollars in job training for local residents. As part of Boston's response to the COVID-19 crisis, John co-convened the City’s Health Inequities Task Force, which guided the city in addressing inequities in data analysis, testing sites, and healthcare services for Bostonians who are Asian, Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and immigrants.
