Tony Talamas is Vice President at Hunt Mortgage Group in the Houston offi ce. Mr. Talamas

focuses on originating agency debt, primarily small balance loans under the Freddie Mac

and Fannie Mae Small Balance Loan Programs for clients in the South Central United

States. Mr. Talamas joined Hunt Mortgage Group from BMC Capital where he was a

Vice President and Loan Offi cer. While at BMC, he originated and closed multifamily and

commercial real estate loans between $1 million and $10 million, with a primary focus on

acquisition and refi nance transactions secured by stabilized multifamily and multi-tenant

retail properties. Prior to that he founded his own fi rm, Fountainhead Intermediary, LLC,

to secure debt for multifamily and commercial real estate. He has also held positions with

Deerpath Capital, ECOtality, Wells Fargo & Washington Mutual, and Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Talamas earned his BA in Business Administration-Management from Trinity University

in San Antonio, Texas, and his MBA from the University of Houston Executive Degree

Program.

Zach is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Pender Capital. Zach co-founded Pender in 2015 and brings over 16 years of experience in both commercial real estate finance and capital markets expertise. Zach oversees the firm’s Investment and Research program which includes deal sourcing, research, and structuring and is a member of the Investment and Research Committee and the Management Committee. Prior to Pender, Zach served as Managing Director/ Senior Vice President for Liberty SBF, a commercial finance company based in Philadelphia, where he was responsible for establishing Liberty’s Western Regional HQ in Los Angeles and directed West Coast originations and operations. Zach personally originated over $60 million of commercial loans during the first year of operations on the West Coast. In 2008, Zach joined Silver Point Capital, LP in New York, a Goldman Sachs partner fund, where he was responsible for commercial real estate loan originations and insurance-linked securities trading. During his tenure at Silver Point, Zach traded more than $500 million in distressed commercial real estate debt, insurance-linked securities, and assets in the capital markets. Michael is the CEO of Kairoi Residential providing strategic direction and leadership across the entire corporate platform. He is a co-founder of the acquisitions and development partnerships in 2003 and 2006 respectively, as well as a founding partner of Kairoi. Michael has been deeply involved in the multifamily business as an owner and operator since 1995. His 23 years of experience make him an expert in the fields of multifamily management, investment, and development. Michael has invested in, developed, and disposed of more than $4.3 billion of real estate over the past 15 years. He has a valuable network of relationships with institutional joint venture partners, lenders and property owners which he has developed over his career.

Michael graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance. He is the Chairman of the Board for Alamo Regional Mobility Authority as appointed by the Governor. In connection with his role as Chairman, Michael serves on the Alamo Area MPO Transportation Policy Board and in the San Antonio Mobility Coalition. He also serves on the Advisory Board for The Bank of San Antonio and The Bank of Austin. Michael plays a large role in the San Antonio business community as well having previously held the position of Vice Chairman and currently serving on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. When Michael isn’t busy at the office or in the San Antonio community, he enjoys being on the lake, skiing, traveling, and listening to live music.'

Jason Arechiga

Jason Arechiga joined The NRP Group in 2012 as a Land Acquisition Specialist and now serves as Senior Vice President of Development.

He is responsible for the company’s affordable housing and mixed-income portfolio throughout Texas. His primary duties include sourcing and entitling new projects, from land acquisition to the start of construction, and he does the preliminary underwriting of all development deals.

Arechiga fosters strong working relationships with housing authorities, government agencies, and other development partners, ensuring a smooth and collaborative approach to achieving shared goals. These relationships and shared goals have led to many creative approaches to financing affordable housing throughout the state of Texas. He serves on the board of the Texas Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies and is an active member of the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers.

Prior to joining NRP, Arechiga was the co-owner and manager of Hillstar Investments, a single-family residential development firm in South and Central Texas for more than a decade. He also served as an adjunct professor at Alamo Colleges teaching both Texas and U.S. history courses. Arechiga currently serves as the board chair of Any Baby Can, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing direction and guidance for families of children and youth with special needs. Arechiga holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in military history from Norwich University.

Drew Garza is an Associate for Institutional Property Advisors (IPA) with a focus on business development and transactions of multifamily assets for private and institutional clients throughout the San Antonio MSA.

Prior to joining the IPA team, Drew was an Associate and Member of Marcus & Millichap’s National Multi Housing Group. Within his first two years with Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Garza closed and/or was a part of the execution on over 2,000 units which is equivalent to over $120 Million.

Mr. Garza is a graduate of University of Texas at San Antonio where he earned a degree in Real Estate Finance & Development with a minor in Finance. With his extensive understanding of multifamily real estate investments coupled with his degree, Mr. Garza is able to serve as an advisor for his clients, providing a tailored strategy or solution in order for the client to meet and exceed their goals.
