WHY THIS MATTERS

What You’ll Learn

  • In what ways are demographic shifts, such as San Antonio being the third fastest-growing city in the U.S., influencing the demand for multifamily housing and SFR developments?

  • San Antonio’s occupancy rate has decreased by 140 basis points year-over-year, now standing at 91.4%. With over 21,000 units under construction and fewer new starts compared to last year, how can stakeholders address the challenges of oversupply and attract tenants?

  • New Braunfels, Northwest Bexar Count, and Southtown/King William are leading in construction activity how are they impacting the overall multifamily market in San Antonio, and what lessons can be learned from their performance?

  • What emerging trends and demographic shifts influence development strategies, such as young professionals' urban living preferences?

  • What are the main challenges faced by multifamily investors in San Antonio given the current high borrowing and construction costs, and how can they mitigate these risks?

How You’ll Do More Business: San Antonio’s supply expanded by 1,035 units during the first quarter of 2024. The pipeline had 21,103 units under construction, but activity is softening, with fewer construction starts recorded during the period compared to last year’s corresponding time frame. The record number of deliveries is dampening the market's ability to absorb all the new traditional multifamily products. Learn about the latest developments in the SFR and BTR sectors, including site selection strategies and market demand, to capitalize on emerging investment opportunities. Gain firsthand insights from industry leaders into the latest market data and forecasts, helping you make informed decisions and understand the current market dynamics heading into 2025.

Who attends: Owners, operators, developers, investors, general contractors, economists, brokers, public officials, architects, tenants, engineers, and professionals moving San Antonio’s multifamily market forward.
