Why You Should Attend This Event

In the Southeastern portion of the Sun Belt, multifamily has been booming for a number of years. However, it is facing more pressure recently. Record setting deliveries have been paired with flattening rental rates, which is not just due to additional supply, but also economic stagnation and inflation for the renting population. Heightened interest rates have slowed acquisition and development activity alike.

Despite these factors, population growth remains healthy, and the major cities of the region remain attractive for both renters and the investment community. This regional event, covering the multifamily and student housing sectors from Alabama to Virginia and everything in between, will cover the most pressing challenges in residential real estate. From the markets that investors are targeting, cost saving measures in design, building and management, the affordability landscape and much more - this event will provide investors and renters with the latest information from the region's most active firms.

Bisnow will outline the key factors that can lead to higher returns and lower costs in the multifamily industry, to better equip you in your search for your next deals.

What You'll Learn:

  • What factors are influencing the markets that investors are gravitating towards in the southeast?

  • How do suburban deals with lower entry costs compare with higher rent urban alternatives in today's environment?

  • How are the already complex affordable and attainable housing deals able to move forward today?

  • How much naturally occurring affordable housing is being added regionally and how much of a solution can it provide alongside incentives?

  • What do migration trends, coupled with shrinking college enrollment figures, mean for the future of the student housing sector?

  • How are buildings being designed to appeal to residents while curtailing cost?

  • What technology and amenities are truly driving resident leasing activity and retention?

  • How can apartments and portfolios be operated and managed to increase leasing velocity?

  • What levers can be pulled to lower operating costs on the property level?

  • What factors are raising construction costs, and how can they be reduced?

  • How do the municipal environments compare throughout the region, and how can permitting and zoning requests be most effectively navigated?
