Frontier Communications’ existing Uptown office is slated to become its official headquarters, making the Connecticut-based broadband provider the latest company to relocate its HQ to Dallas.

The company also considered Tampa, Florida, but ultimately landed on Dallas due to the hundreds of corporate employees already based in the Metroplex, CEO Nick Jeffery said in a release.

The move is expected to pump $3.8B into the local and state economies and create more than 3,000 jobs over the next 10 years.

“It’s official – Dallas is now home base for Building Gigabit America,” Jeffery said in a statement. “With a fast-growing economy and large, diverse pool of talent, Dallas is quickly becoming one of the nation’s top business cities. We’re proud to be part of it.”

The company’s 48K SF office in Norwalk, Connecticut, will continue to house the 300 employees who work there. The company has previously operated North Texas offices in Allen and Irving.

Frontier signed a lease in early 2022 for its “Gigahub,” a 95K SF office at 1919 McKinney Ave., per The Dallas Morning News. The location has the capacity to employ up to 1,000 workers.

The Uptown office is in an enterprise zone, which means Frontier is eligible to pursue tax rebates after investing $7M in the Gigahub.

The move will allow Frontier to meet the high demand for fiber that exists in Texas and beyond, Jeffery said in the release. The company plans to spend about $1M per week to upgrade and improve its fiber network in the Dallas area, with a goal of eventually supporting 10 million homes, per the DMN.

Frontier is the fourth company to move its HQ to Texas so far this year, per YTexas, which tracks relocations into the state.
