Waverly

NN Inc. is relocating its global headquarters to Charlotte from Johnson City, Tennessee. The company expects the transition to Providence Road in Charlotte to take place early in 2018, with about 200 employees based at NN's new corporate HQ at the Waverly development, a joint project of Crosland Southeast, Childress Klein and the Matthews family.

"Relocating our headquarters to Charlotte, a national transportation hub with global accessibility, aligns closely with our strategy," NN President and CEO Richard Holder said. NN will continue to have a presence in Johnson City.

NN designs and manufactures high-precision components and assembles them for medical, aerospace and automotive markets. The company has 33 manufacturing plants in North America, Europe, South America and China. No manufacturing is moving to Charlotte during the relocation.

Various incentives were offered to the company to make the move, including more than $288K in property tax rebates over five years by the city and county. The state approved a Job Development Investment Grant of $3.7M and as much as $360K in community college training funds.
