Goodyear Arts Building Making Way For Tryon Place

Placeholder

The Goodyear Arts building on North Church Street will soon be demolished to make way for Crescent Communities' Tryon Place mixed-use project, which will include an office tower, a hotel and retail space at Tryon and Stonewall streets. The company notes that "crews will take down the Goodyear building that most recently housed our innovative Skyline Artist in Residence program, known locally as the Goodyear Arts program. The program promoted art and culture along the burgeoning Stonewall corridor.

The Stonewall corridor is indeed a busy place these days, home to an assortment of residential and commercial projects, the Charlotte Business Journal reports. One is Crescent's Stonewall, which will include a Whole Foods Market, 459 apartments, two hotels and additional retail space. Also at work in the corridor are Portman Holdings, Northwood Ravin, Profitt Dixon and Lincoln Harris. [CBJ]
