State Street To Sublease Seven Floors Of State Street Financial Center

State Street Corp put 170k SF up for sublease in the office tower of the same name (State Street Financial Center, or 1 Lincoln St, left) in the Financial District. The space includes seven of the building's 36 floors, or about one-sixth of the total space. The sublease would run through 2023.

The property, owned by Brooklyn-based Fortis Property Group, has been mostly occupied by State Street since it was developed in 2003. The other major tenant is law firm K&L Gates.

State Street said the company did not anticipate any changes to its real estate footprint with the planned sublease, reports the Boston Business Journal. The company occupies 2.8M SF in eastern Massachusetts. [BBJ]
