Phoenix Student Housing & Higher Ed Summit to Examine Growth, Development and Investment Opportunities Across Arizona

BISWIRE/Sept. 10, 2026 — Bisnow’s Phoenix Student Housing & Higher Ed Summit, taking place Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Kimpton Miralina in Scottsdale, will bring together university leaders, developers, investors, architects and other commercial real estate professionals to examine the forces shaping Arizona’s student housing market.

With university enrollment growth, a persistent gap between on-campus housing supply and off-campus demand, and continued development activity across Tempe and Greater Phoenix, the summit will provide attendees with insight into where opportunities remain and how market participants are approaching development, investment and operations.

Attendees will hear directly from higher education and industry leaders about university-developer partnerships, public-private partnerships, capital structures, development pipelines, leasing models and institutional investment strategies. The event will also provide opportunities to connect with owners and operators, developers, brokers, capital markets professionals, lenders, architects, engineers, contractors and legal and financial advisors active in the market.

Featured panels include:

  • The Campus Equation: How Arizona Universities Are Planning, Partnering, and Building for Growth — Exploring P3 models, enrollment-driven master plans and university-developer partnerships shaping higher education real estate.

    • Grand Canyon University

    • Maricopa Community Colleges

    • Aptitude Development

    • Mancini

    • Todd & Associates

  • The Student Housing Playbook: Development, Investment, and Operations Across the Valley — Examining how developers, owners and capital partners are sizing opportunities, structuring deals and maximizing performance in the Phoenix student housing market.

    • University of Arizona

    • Drive Development Partners

    • Redstone Residential

    • Collegiate Housing Foundation

    • Shepley Bulfinch

    • Clark Construction

The summit will address where the active student housing pipeline stands across Tempe and Greater Phoenix, which submarkets offer potential opportunities, how P3 structures work, what the 2026 student housing capital stack looks like, and how by-the-bed leasing affects operations, revenue management and underwriting. Attendees will also gain perspective on what institutional capital is seeking and how national investment trends are translating into Phoenix opportunities.

The event will take place in the Meridian Ballroom at Kimpton Miralina, 7200 N Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ. Complimentary parking is available at the venue.
