BISWIRE/June 19, 2025 — UnCommons, a groundbreaking mixed-use development located just outside of the Las Vegas Strip, is part of the cultural design phenomenon redefining how spaces are becoming the heartbeat for fostering community and building social connection.

In a post-pandemic world, people find themselves working from home, using their laptops to communicate, and texting conversations rather than meeting face-to-face. It has made life exponentially easier and more efficient in some ways but has also created an epidemic of loneliness as people seek ways to connect with others on a day-to-day basis.

UnCommons is part of that strategy. This carefully curated development was designed for social connection — with shaded pedestrian walkways, public common areas, and thoughtfully selected food and beverage offerings — is what has established it as one of the fastest-growing hubs in Las Vegas for business, leisure, residential, and lifestyle living.

With the recent opening of Kiln, UnCommons’ bespoke coworking space, the development captures what people are seeking in a modern workplace campus: safety, culinary hubs, fitness rooms, and a strong sense of community in one beautifully designed space.

“UnCommons was created with the intent to capture all of the benefits to enhance workplace productivity in an age where people seek all of their senses to be inspired in work and life,” said Jim Stuart, Partner at Matter Real Estate. “We sought to prioritize what makes people feel good, safe, and a part of something extraordinary. We are thrilled to have created a modern hub where people can come to live, work, play, and feel a sense of belonging.”

UnCommons is more than just a place to live and work — it is a place where people can feel they belong. The human-centered design and research-backed strategy (with input from neuroscientists, social workers and more) aims to create a neighborhood where people can bring their dogs, grab a coffee, be a regular at the sports bar, and find others whom they recognize from the community while creating daily social connections.

UnCommons has managed to become a culinary hub that has brought food and beverage mainstays from throughout the United States, each one of them known as a hot spot where locals congregate.

Urth Caffé, Salt & Straw Ice Cream, Blue Bottle Coffee, and SunLife Organics are already becoming local hot spots, and STIX ASIA will soon open its doors, bringing a premier Asian food hall to the southwest side of Las Vegas.

This summer, Rare Society will bring its retro steakhouse energy to UnCommons, where big steaks and even bigger martinis will be on the menu.

The vision for UnCommons will continue to evolve — and the newly opened coworking space  adds another layer by offering a place for professionals and work-from-home entrepreneurs to find a source of community and a place to connect.
