Sean Ponder Joins Harkins Builders
BISWIRE/April 12, 2024 — Harkins announces the addition of Sean Ponder to their company as a Project Executive, with a particular focus on their DC operations. With nearly 100 projects completed in DC since their founding in 1965, four projects under construction, and multiple others in preconstruction, Harkins is continuing to expand their footprint in the region. Sean’s expertise in DC will be an asset to Harkins as the company continues to invest resources in the area.
A graduate of the Naval Academy, Sean served for over 21 years in the US Navy as a Submarine Officer on active-duty and in the reserves. After his active-duty military career, he joined Lockheed Martin, where he held various business development and management positions. In 2016, Sean transitioned to Coba Properties, a DC-based real estate development company focused on single- and multi-family properties in the region, as Senior Vice President of Acquisition and Development. There, he led their in-house general contracting division, managing a $300 million construction and development portfolio of residential and commercial projects. Given Sean’s strengths in project management, business development, and strategic planning, Harkins is eager to leverage his skills in their DC market. Working alongside Harkins' Opportunity Programs and Compliance team, Sean will contribute to their ongoing efforts to fulfill CBE and First Source requirements.
