Biscred Names the Biggest Players in U.S. Commercial Real Estate Development

The rankings identify leading firms across three categories: property count, company size, and contact count — giving CRE professionals a detailed view of where development capacity and decision-making power sit across the market.
By property count, American Tower leads with more than 226,000 properties across 22 countries, specializing in communications infrastructure. John M. Corcoran and Company (Braintree, MA) and Realty Income (San Diego, CA) follow with approximately 16,000 and 15,600 estimated properties, respectively. Prologis and Contour Companies round out the top five.
By contact count — a measure of organizational reach and accessibility for outreach — Greystar Worldwide leads with 11,161 contacts in Biscred, followed by AECOM Capital (9,448), Caesars Entertainment (6,213), BNSF Railway (5,063), and D.R. Horton (3,748).
Among the 379 development companies in Biscred's database with estimated annual revenue over $100 million, multifamily leads all asset class experience with 208 firms. Hospitality (162), retail (147), office (140), and mixed-use (123) follow.
Geographically, California, Texas, and New York host the highest concentrations of large developers, with 44, 39, and 36 companies headquartered in each state, respectively.
