The firm is seeking a Controller to lead and oversee accounting and financial operations across a growing retail and office portfolio. This is a full-time, in-office role designed for a highly skilled, hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a multi-entity environment and enjoys working closely with ownership on both day-to-day operations and strategic financial decisions.

Compensation: $145,000–$170,000 base salary + annual bonus potential

Role Overview

This position combines property-level accounting, transaction management, and financial leadership, with direct exposure to ownership, third-party CPAs, and property management partners. The Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, improving processes, and delivering clear, actionable reporting across 10–15 legal entities.

Role Overview & Qualifications

• Lead all accounting and financial operations across a multi-entity retail and office portfolio, including month-end and year-end close, property-level accounting, CAM/NNN reconciliations, and transaction accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and refinances.
  
• Oversee reporting and compliance, coordinating with third-party CPAs and property managers while ensuring accurate lender, banking, and entity filings.
  
• Drive financial insight and operational efficiency through cash flow forecasting, treasury controls, budgeting, and process improvements.
  
• Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of CRE accounting experience, strong multi-entity and transaction expertise, the ability to resolve incomplete financials, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. CPA preferred; AppFolio experience a plus.
