Biscred Identifies Top U.S. Architecture Firms by Property Count, Company Size, and Contact Reach
Biscred's proprietary CRE database reveals that architecture firms can be ranked by project activity, organizational scale, and decision-maker accessibility — offering new clarity for B2B outreach across the industry.
BISWIRE/Aug. 19, 2026 — Architecture firms are among the most targeted segments for B2B outreach in commercial real estate, and now there's a data-backed view of the market leaders. Biscred, the CRE industry's comprehensive prospecting database, has identified the largest U.S. architecture firms across more than 40,000 firms and 214,000 professionals in its platform.
The rankings measure leading firms by three distinct metrics: property count, company size, and contact reach. This multi-dimensional view surfaces which architecture firms control the most projects, employ the most people, and maintain the most accessible decision-makers for targeted outreach.
By property count, Thornton Tomasetti leads with an estimated 90,000 commercial properties, followed by Design, Consulting, Construction Management (DCCM) with 50,000 and Group-IPS with 25,000. These figures reflect the breadth of projects each firm has touched across asset classes including multifamily, office, industrial, healthcare, and mixed use.
By company size, the largest architecture firms by employee count include AECOM (20 asset classes), Burns & McDonnell (16 asset classes), HDR (19 asset classes), Jacobs Solutions, and Stantec — each employing more than 10,000 people and spanning multiple geographic markets. These organizations often deliver services beyond traditional architecture, including engineering, consulting, and construction management.
By contact reach — a measure of how many key decision-makers a firm has in Biscred's database — AECOM leads with 7,823 contacts, followed by HDR (3,860), Gensler (3,288), Parsons (2,944), and HNTB (2,840). These contacts represent the professionals vendors, service providers, and other businesses need to reach to influence purchasing decisions.
"Architecture firms specify materials, influence design decisions, and shape which products and services make it into commercial real estate projects," said Rob Armstrong, president of Biscred. "This data makes it possible to identify which firms control the most projects, which are the largest organizations, and who the actual decision-makers are — so outreach starts with precision targeting."
