World Class Holdings has purchased a seven-building portfolio on 45 acres at Met Center, adding to an Austin portfolio that ranges from the 156-acre 3M campus in North Austin to an estimated 6M SF downtown.

World Class Chief Operating Officer Sheena Paul said the purchase includes 400K SF of creative office, data center and flex space.

The portfolio World Class bought last month within the 550-acre Met Center development is at 8201 East Riverside Drive and 7401 East Ben White Drive (near the intersection of Ben White and Riverside Drive, near Oracle's new campus) and at 7620 Metro Center, near the intersection of US 183 South and Riverside Drive.

Digital Realty LLC was the seller.

Southeast Austin's Met Center has gotten plenty of buzz in recent months with Zydeco Development's gaffe: labeling a portion of East Austin "Tortilla Canyon" in a presentation to land the city's future Municipal Courts complex.

The potential Municipal Courts complex, not yet fully funded, on Metropolis Drive is still owned by Zydeco.

World Class carries a $1.2B portfolio, according to a profile of CEO Nate Paul last year in Forbes. Paul is considered the biggest buyer and developer of real estate in Austin, but he doesn't own any trophy buildings.

"My assets are not sexy," Paul told Forbes last year. "I mean, I own lots of storage. But I love my assets."
