12 DC Restaurants Receive Michelin Stars

DC is just the fourth city in the US to receive a Michelin Guide and now 12 area restaurants can proudly boast star ratings from the prestigious dining guide.

The three restaurants to receive two stars were Jose Andres' minibar, Aaron Silverman's Pineapple and Pearls and The Inn at Little Washington by Patrick O'Connell (above), the Washington Business Journal reports. The Inn was the only restaurant outside of DC proper—and nearly 70 miles outside, at that—to earn a star.

Nine DC restaurants received one star: Blue Duck Tavern, The Dabney, Fiola, Kinship, Masseria, Plume, Rose's Luxury, Sushi Taro and Tail Up Goat. No restaurant received the guide's highest rating of three stars.

Last week, Michelin announced the Bib Gourmand restaurant list, the best affordable restaurants where customers can get two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for under $40. [WBJ]
