DC Government Leases 168k SF In Trammell Crow's Sentinel Square

Two months after landing the Federal Election Commission for 100k SF at its Sentinel Square development in NoMa, Trammell Crow has signed an even larger lease with the DC government.

The District will move three agencies to the building, filling a combined 168k SF, the Washington Business Journal reports.

The transportation department, state superintendent for education and insurance, and securities and banking department will fill the space for a 12-year lease term, with an effective rental rate of $20.48/SF.

Trammell Crow and Cottonwood Partners completed the 12-story, 280k SF building on spec in 2013. With these two big government leases the team has nearly filled the NoMa office building, the second phase of its Sentinel Square project. It is planning to go ahead with the next phase, which will be leased by the FCC, once it settles a legal dispute with the agency's current landlord. [WBJ]
