Mapped: DC's Co-Working Spaces Multiply

A new interactive map by the Washington, DC, Economic Partnership reveals the city has at least 55 co-working spots. The map includes spaces like WeWork (pictured), Hera Hub and the Cove. Just point and click on the location nearest you and you've got a picture of the space, an address, and a full description of perks and amenities. Despite closings like DC's oldest co-working hub, Affinty Lab, back in January, the business plan is still going strong. WeWork, for instance, just signed a lease with Douglas Development for 51k SF at Manhattan Laundry, and has even ventured into co-living spaces for the techie who literally eats, breathes, and sleeps his or her job. As the definition of "work" continues to shift from the 9 to 5 norm into a modern context that includes parents working around their kids' schedules and telecommuters working at random hours, there will always be a need for space where workers can plug in at any time and be productive. So whether you're looking for an individual office, a collaboration hub, or just a place you can pop in and work, there's a co-working space somewhere in the city with your name on it.
