After a period of rapid growth and expansion overseas, Mindspace, one of Europe’s leading coworking providers, will open its first U.S. location in Washington, D.C., in July.

Already a hub for over 12,000 professionals across numerous industries and businesses sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, Mindspace’s D.C. office will bring its commitment to creating high-end spaces designed around the local community to the U.S.

As part of the coworking provider’s mission to bring flexible office space to larger enterprise companies, Mindspace also launched its broker portal this month, providing brokers an all-in-one platform for tracking and reviewing tenant leases. With more companies deciding to partner with coworking providers to offer alternative workspace to employees and remote staff, Mindspace’s broker portal will help brokers find office space for their clients.

Mindspace will be located at One Franklin Square on K Street, in the heart of D.C. The space, which spans 31K SF, will accommodate over 500 members and boasts amenities like a rooftop lounge and access to restaurants, bars and shops. D.C.’s central business district has become a magnet for a growing community of tech and creative companies, drawn to the population of young professionals.

One Franklin Square itself became the new HQ for the Washington Post in 2015, with the media company occupying 242K SF in the building, while Fannie Mae is opening its HQ on the land where the Post's old building once stood between L and 15th streets

Brokers will soon be able to use the portal to market these amenities and track sales opportunities at Mindspace’s new D.C. location. Mindspace’s Brokers Referral Platform will allow brokers to collaborate with Mindspace to meet the needs of their clients in the ever-evolving coworking market. Platform features include new opportunity alerts within Mindspace’s global network of locations, access to a library of marketing collateral to showcase to clients, quick onboarding of legal documents, tracking of the sales process and review of sales commissions and rewards.

As more large companies opt for coworking locations, having a dedicated broker portal to facilitate these deals will help spotlight available office space across Mindspace facilities.

Helping large enterprises attract and retain young professionals with upscale workspaces has become Mindspace’s calling card. With over 16% of 18- to 24-year-olds leaving jobs because of poor office design, prioritizing upscale, inspiring and efficient workspaces has become a priority for many companies.

Since launching in 2014, the coworking provider has looked to stylish office space to accommodate businesses of any size. Options range from flexible desks and open office plans to lockable suites for larger companies. Members enjoy boutique private offices, lounges, meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology, fully stocked kitchens and community events like networking and happy hours.

Mindspace also collaborates with a local artist in each new location to help decorate and design a workspace specific to that community.

With locations in six countries and 12 cities, the broker portal and the new D.C. location are just a part of Mindspace’s growing global reach. The coworking provider also recently acquired KleinKantoor, the leading coworking firm in Amsterdam.
