An apartment project near Amazon's future second headquarters in Crystal City has just tripled in size.

Roseland Residential Trust, a subsidiary of Mack-Cali, filed plans with Arlington County for Crystal Houses III, a 798-unit project on the 17-acre site at 1900 South Eads St., UrbanTurf reports

The developer received county approval in November 2017 to build a five-story, 252-unit building on the site. Its new plan calls for four buildings, two of them reaching 11 stories, one seven-story building and one six-story building. It would also include a public park at the intersection of 22nd and South Fern streets.

The project, designed by Lessard Design, would add to the two existing Crystal House buildings, which total about 800 units. The project sits two blocks west of the Crystal City Metro station and is poised to benefit from the influx of Amazon employees, who will begin moving in this year.
