Landsdowne Development Gets Approval For Leesburg Mixed-Use Project

After the Leesburg Town Council rejected Landsdowne Development's Crescent Parke project in July, the developer made some revisions that appear to have done the trick.

The Town Council voted 4-3 to approve rezoning for the mixed-use development this week, LoudounNow reports. The development, which sits on a 53-acre site, calls for 344 housing units and 161k SF of commercial space, including office and retail.

As part of the revised application, developer Hobie Mitchel agreed to accelerate the nonresidential development, building 20k SF before the housing. He also reduced the total number of housing units and offered millions of dollars to improve the adjacent Olde Izaak Walton Park, shown above, and extend Davis Avenue. [LN]
