Check Out COPT's $1B Canton Crossing Project

Corporate Office Properties Trust has unveiled designs for its 10-acre project named The Waterfront at Canton Crossing, and it's a major departure from the four-building plan previously released. The $1B project includes 1.1M SF of Class-A office space, retail and restaurants, a 400-foot residential tower, a 300-key hotel, and a marina with 200 boat slips. There will be a total of 13 buildings of varying height and a public Harbor Walk and green space along the water for bikers and pedestrians. The designs were presented to the city's Urban Design and Architecture Review panel on Aug. 13 as part of an effort to pass a PUD amendment that would allow for more office space, parking and buildings, as well as taller buildings at the Canton Crossing site. David Manfredi of Elkus Manfredi Architects said he's looking to emulate designs like Liberty Wharf in Boston and Battery Park City in New York. Development could start as soon as mid-2016. [BBJ]
