Amazon On Amazon HQ2: A Conversation With Amazon's Holly Sullivan And JBG Smith CEO Matt Kelly

Making one of her first public appearances since leading the search process for Amazon HQ2, Amazon Head of Worldwide Economic Development Holly Sullivan spoke on stage last week with JBG Smith CEO Matt Kelly, the developer who won the rights to develop the headquarters in Northern Virginia.

The keynote conversation, moderated by Cushman & Wakefield Vice Chairman Bill Collins, illuminated the decision-making process at Amazon in the 15 months between when the HQ2 request for proposals was released and the decision was announced. Kelly spoke of the work JBG Smith did to convince Amazon to come to its properties in Arlington, and Sullivan laid out what happens now to develop the campus and after Amazon decided to cancel the other half of HQ2, which was to be built in New York City.
