Cushman & Wakefield Shakes Up US Leadership

One of the three largest commercial real estate services firms has made a significant shift at the top of its US leadership.

Cushman & Wakefield announced yesterday it is moving Americas chief executive Joe Stettinius, above, to chief executive of Americas brokerage and capital markets and putting global president Tod Lickerman into the role of Americas CEO.

“We are building on our position of strength, and dedicated to growing in every major market where we operate,” Tod said in a release. “Joe and I are both excited to work even more closely with our clients as we continue to add depth, talent and scale to meet their needs.”

Joe had been Americas CEO for DTZ and then held that position after the merger last year. Tod also comes over from DTZ, where he was Global CEO for two years after spending nearly two decades climbing the ladder at JLL

Tod is still listed as global president on C&W's website, second on the food chain behind global chairman/CEO Brett White. It is unclear who, if anyone, will fill the now-vacant president role; the man third on the hierarchy is global COO John Santora.

The firm has also had a big shakeup in its DC office recently—where Joe is based—with top brokers Brian Tucker, Brian Dawson and John Dragelin leaving for JLL. The firm then brought in Peter Carroccio from CBRE as executive managing director of DC brokerage.
