Real estate services firm Greysteel has brought on a new managing director to oversee the firm's operations.

Duerk Brewer, pictured above mountain biking with his wife, was previously VP at Berkadia, where he worked to integrate the company's investment sales and mortgage banking platforms.

“Duerk’s industry experience and proven track record make him the perfect addition,” Greysteel co-founder Ari Firoozabadi said in a release. “He shares our values and vision for the future of the firm. We look forward to strengthening our platform with his leadership and expertise."

Before he worked at Berkadia, Duerk was a managing partner at Phoenix-based Hendricks & Partners. He says the talent he saw at Greysteel makes it an attractive place to work

“In an industry that is all about relationships, Greysteel is building something special by recruiting the best in the business, from investment sales and finance advisers, to the operational talent supporting them in marketing, research and analytics," he said. “The bar is set high."

Greysteel, which has offices in DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Dallas and Fort Worth, recently brokered the financing of a $32.1M apartment complex sale in Laurel
