Harvest Properties To Give New Life To Oakland's Tribune Tower

Oakland’s iconic Tribune Tower is undergoing a significant renovation. Harvest Properties, which bought the 90K SF building in December for $20M, is putting an additional $16M to $20M toward upgrading the office tower, the San Francisco Business Times reports. The renovation will include seismic upgrades, updated elevators and systems and a new lobby.

The building at 409 13th St. has had three owners within the last decade and had fallen into neglect. It was sold to Harvest as-is. Tenant spaces will range from 2K to 50K SF. The tower will offer boutique creative office space with skyline views of Oakland. On-site amenities will include a third-wave coffee shop, a full-service bar and restaurant, executive parking and bike storage.

Cushman & Wakefield Executive Director John Dolby, Managing Director Dane Hooks and Associate Charlie Sweeney are marketing the property for lease. The tower is about 25% leased to small existing and new tenants on the upper floors. New tenants include mostly law firms that have moved into completed upper floors.

The renovations are designed by ASD/SKY and are being handled by Truebeck Construction. Renovations are expected to be done by early 2018.
