Flurry Of Tech Leasing Activity Hits San Francisco Office Market

Placeholder

Several tech leases hit the San Francisco office market this quarter, squelching fears tech firms could be pulling back from the city. NerdWallet, currently at 901 Market St, has just subleased 150k SF at 1355 Market St. Thumbtack could also be leasing 78k SF there, reports the San Francisco Business Times.

Twitter began vacating 1355 Market in August and is laying off 8% of its workforce. Twitter's sublease space is among the largest on the market.

Slack, an online messaging startup, will possibly lease 300k SF at 500 Howard St now occupied by Gymboree Corp, which may move to 71 Stevenson St following Bare Escentuals move to New York. Tech companies looking for more space include Airbnb, Cisco, Uber’s Otto and General Motors’ Cruise Automation. [SFBT]
